Besides buying yearly, you should also only do saturdays IMO becuse the jackpots are generally bigger... So you if you don't want to do yearly, do it twice on Saturday, rather than once on Wednesday and once on Saturday. You will improve your chances and get potentially get a bigger amount if you win!

The other thing, if you think about it, instead of buying tickets weekly, you should save it for a year and buy all your yearly tickets for one draw (different numbers for each ticket obviously). You will significantly improve your chances of winning (although please don't ask me to work out the percentages!) No chance of me buying a ticket. Don't have time, and would probably be too distracted by the chocolate bars!!

Greg, after a life time of watching the pennies I can assure you, I'd still have 1,000,000 when I die! If what you say is correct and I'd have £50,000 per year......thats a fortune to us. We'd live on it and give plenty! No need to worry about it anyway.... I couldnt win an argument. Deanna :~(

Hi Greg, i dont think i would want it to change my life forever, cos im quite happy as i am, but even just the chance to live it up for a few year and buy the stuff you wouldnt normally dream of - that would do me fine. just being able to move into my dream house without worrying about the price, and having a new car rather than a heap. few holidays to remember with the kids - then back to normality.........sounds good to me. You sound like youve had your sums worked out for a while... lol :o) Jackie x

I don't think £1m would change you life all that much would it? Sure, it would let you pay off the mortgage and have a bit of spending money for a few years, but then what? A 5% return on that is only £50k/year, and of course once you give money to friends family, pay off the mortgage, you £1m quickly becomes much less so your return could easily be £25k/year. Surely you need about £3m to make a huge difference. £1m to 'distribute', and then £2m to invest and live off the return (£100k/year). Still not in the realms of the megarich or even barely rich, but £100k/year should mean that you can do most of the things you want and not have to work except for enjoyment..

Well....after they picked me up off the floor.......!!!!

Pinned on my cork board in the kitchen is a picture of 'my' car. It's a bright red 4x4. I'd buy that and a sporty car for hubby. I'd give the four 'kids' money to pay off their mortgages. Put money away for the two grandchildren. Buy ourselves a nice house in the country to retire in. Give some to my charity. Take the family out to a good hotel in London, in a stretch limo, have a slap up meal with champagne to celebrate. Oh what it is to dream.........................Jo.
