June never be too discouraged. Half the fun is unravelling the secrets . Many a brick wall and garden path have i found . Those walls will come down in time with patience. I do hope I get to meet them this year : ) Much happiness debi |

I am sooooooooo excited I really couldn't stop yabbing on about it to my husband last night ( who funny enough didn't have the same enthusiam as I lol) I so hope it encourages us all. The tree I have researched reaches 1480 ( this was achievable as the family lived in the one village for 100's of years and were well documented ) and to actually now start to bring this forward to present date is trully the icing on the cake, My dear old gran always told me to trust your gut feelings - I am so glad I did on this one. Off to phone any family member willing to listen lol or is imobile and can't run away from me lol Much happiness and keep chiping away at those walls ........ they do come down eventually : ) Debi |

Great news Debi. As long as the contact is sensitive and non intrusive I think this idea works really well. I've had great results this way too. |

......................On Tuesday I wrote a letter to a complete stranger after having done a B4U Search on a family name in my tree. I was intrigued as he also had his middle name recorded on the electroal roll. This middle name and his surname were my ggg grandparents names and I had this gut feeling he must be in some way related. Enclosed in the letter was a small family history report of the family and my address, e mail and telephone number. I recieved an e mail this afternoon and then a phone call this evening. It turns out that his father was my grt grandmothers youngest brother thus making him my 1st cousin twice removed. Even better than that has more recent 1st hand stories of my grt grandmother and gg grandfather. They also have photo's they are happy to share with me of my gggg grandfather and are dying to have a big family get together. So I just wanted to say don't be shy about writing to complete strangers or looking up on electoral rolls etc.......IT WORKS in bringing your family tree closer and moving it forwards........Just had to share. MUCH HAPPINESS DEBI |
