Im feeling like i should give up now, we have been searching for my husbands dad and his family, i know his name is PETER ROBERT WORKER born late 1944, ive sent some messages off here to some workers and i had a reply from one who said it sounded like his brother who he hadnt seen in 40 years however he couldnt help us, he did say there is another brother that he had to talk to to see where to take it from here,he is in his late 60s and i think meeting my husband was to much for him, dont get me wrong he was very nice about it and wished us luck,i do hope once he speaks to is brother he will message me back, he did say they had a sister to, however my husbands dad seems to of vanished, we know about 17 years ago he was living in oxford with a woman and her brother and that peter and this woman had a son, peter was bought up in london, but ive searched everywhere, all ive found is his birth cert and his marriage details for when he married my husbands mum, i have come to a brick wall, i just feel like i should give up, i hate being beaten but what can i do, sorry to go on but i had to say something lol

Kim, dont give up, i know its difficult. Have you tried contacting a local Oxford newspaper? Our local often has trying to find requests. Then there is the Teletext trying to find section on page 151. Failing that you could get out the telephone directory for Oxford and go through the Worker entries. You could try Google - put something in like missing people or trying to find. Take out an ad in a daily/local paper. Just doing something positive will make you feel less despondant. Of course it may be ,sorry to say this, that he doesnt want to be found. But if you give up you may never know. Best wishes and Good Luck Take care, Elaine x.

Hi Kim, No luck with the adresses I gave you :O( I guess its possible he could be living abroad...there are only 2 things I can think of try Joan Allen (my folks) she may be able to help as she has records going back a few years she may know where he was up till a few years ago or maybe able to discover the name of the woman he lived with, or the other thing is to try Traceline they will charge you between 30 and 50 pounds to trace him and forward on a letter, but as they trace somone via their NI number they should be able to tell you if he is on the UK still alive or maybe gone abroad. Good Luck with your search. Best Wishes Sheila
