More Important Things In Life.....................

There are more important things going on in the world, so why has the announcement of Charles and Camilla been on all morning, when just the other day Ellen MacArthur made history??? I presonally do not agree with the whole thing and I believe that if Charles were to be crowned King, then the country would not let it rest. I only admire Camilla for one thing and that is for being dignified over the years and keeping quiet. If Charles loved Camilla and wanted to marry her before Diana even came along, then why didn`t he? Why didn`t he say to his mother, this is the woman I love? It would of saved so much heartache and who knows how things would of worked out. I am not saying Diana was innocent, she was young, and naive when she married Charles, but we saw her grow into this confident, beautiful woman, who in the media seemed to be a good mother, wife and daughter in law. Diana provided an heir to the throne, which is what the royals wanted Who would you of chose or given your permission to? Camilla, older, divorced, average looks, a woman he loved or Diana, young and beautiful, who he didn`t love but marriage was convienent! They both had affairs and like alot of people have said who knows what goes on behind closed doors. We only hear what they want us to hear, It`s the same with everything. I hope they are happy, but I don`t agree with it. Diana, even though she had affairs etc was a truly, beautiful, inspiring and dedicated woman, who would be so proud of her two young men..xxxx

I dont think she ever had the affairs before being hurt by them, did she? However , it would be nice to remember that Camillas husband and children were also hurt by all of this. Not to mention 2 extended families.

He probably didnt marry her cos she was already married, but how sad that he gave in to pressure to marry and have heirs and caused Diana so much heart ache.

Hi Kerry, I go along with everything you say, and would like to point out that Diana only had her affairs when she realised the marriage was a sham; that Charles was bedding Camilla before, during and after their marriage was finalised (in divorce). As she said, during the sensational interview on TV, in which she criticised 'The Establishment' (the Monarchy, she meant) - '...there wasn't room in the bed for three...'. She didn't name names, probably for fear of legal recriminations, but the whole nation knew who she was referring to! Yes, she was bitter, and had every right to be; the way she had been treated by her husband and in-laws. William and Harry are a credit to her. OK, so the younger has shown a bit of fire and lack of respect for authority, but whose son hasn't? He'll soon grow out of it, and be a fine young man like his older brother is becoming. Brian.

I know Diana had the affairs after she realised that Charles was playing away. By more important things, I was saying that I didn`t know why it was on TV most of morning when other things are going on in the world, I know there is crime etc!!

Seeing that I rarely put the TV on during the day I wouldn't have known about this if the best part of this board hadn't been full of it. I only read enought to let me know what it was all about. goodness knows why the media go so over the top to the detriment of 'real' news. To be fair the D Mail did give quite good coverage To Ellen McCarthurs return. No doubt it will now go on and on until we are all totally fed up with the whole thing. And, yes I think Charles should never have married Diana but wat is done is done. Ann Glos

The only reason Charles didn't marry Camilla is because when they were younger Charles went away to sea for his career. When he came back Camilla had married BOWLES so he went back to sea and you all know the rest .Charles married Diana for heirs to the throne. Diana was very naive and she thought she was the only one in Charles life. But Charles was having an affair with Camilla long before the wedding. Sue
