I think the Queen new about this marriage for a while and has probably looked into it all before saying yes. I think that Camilla might have changed religions to Church of England, since you cannot have a Roman Catholic on the throne. This has probably all been looked into, otherwise the Queen wouldnt have said yes. We wil all have to wait and see. Yvonne x

i agree with what will happen to the country.i feel charles should step down as king.look at margeret when she fell in love with someone.lose your royal status or lose him.she chose here royal status over him.so why is charles different.in fact it is worse as he is the next heir to the throne.and how will willam and harry feel.i wouldn't be happyxxxx):

Whilst believing that people should have the right to remarry and be happy - I believe that this marriage will open a can of worms. Personally I will never forget that Charles repeated his marriage vows with a lie on his lips. However it is written into our constitution that a member of the Royal Family cannot marry a Roman Catholic. Some 20 odd years ago Prince Michael of Kent wished to marry a woman who was both a divorcee and a Roman Catholic. In order to do so he had to renounce all rights of accession to the throne - not only for himself but for any issue of that marriage. Whether Camilla is a Roman Catholic now or not I do not know but she married in a church of this faith. How then did Charles obtain the Queen's permission? Could he have brought pressure to bear on her by threatening to stand down as heir to the throne? She would not want William at such a young age to face this possibility - she herself was only in her mid twenties when unfortunately the throne was thrust upon her. What do you think - will it open a can of worms? Ann
