Have you ever bought a ringtone and not realised you were being subscribed to an ongoing service? Well all these services are now obliged to support the STOP command so you can easily unsubscribe and get the service stopped. You simply reply back to the service with the word `STOP` at the start of your text. The number you reply to is the short code for the premium service - normally a five digit number starting with 8 or 6. Some services operate multiple subscriptions - so text back `STOP ALL` to ensure that everything on that service is terminated. Vodafone has been taking a lead role to improve the customer experience when buying `phoneware` like ringtones. In the last week you may have received a text or an MMS from Vodafone live! letting you know which live! services you subscribe to and how to stop them. The whole reason to promote the STOP command is to increase the use of legitimate Premium Text services in the long term! - especially by pointing customers toward the safe area of Vodafone live! Knowing how to Stop services will encourage customers to Start using them. If you have friends that want to stop texts services please tell them about the STOP command - all subscription services should react to it - and it applies across all mobile networks. And please make use of all those text services that are out there - because you can start using a service knowing it can be stopped |
