Kerry Report 9 Feb 2005 09:04

A week ago, we all got letters through our doors saying all the MQs(Married Quarters) on my street were having new bathrooms put in. I got told that they were coming into our house today and that they would be here at 8.00am and that the water would be off for an hour! So I thought fair enough, I cancelled things I had to do today as I don`t like leaving strangers in our house alone. Chris got me up at 7.30am when he left for work, so I could get showered etc before they came in, anyway ten minutes later after I had just gotten out of the shower there was a knock at the door.....the workmen! At 7:40am, told them I wasn`t expecting them for another 20mins, but they made some joke and came in. Now they have told me the water will be off ALL day and also they need to turn the electric off!!!! Grrr and I have a 4month old(who is still asleep, even though the noise they are making sounds like a destruction site) Luckily I get along with my next door neighbour otherwise how would I warm his food and bottles?? On top of all that, one of them has started expressing his opinion on the Herc crash and that he always thought "RAF piolts were too cocky for their own good", I asked him not to make comments like that as they were my friends and that we saw them off last night and he then said " Why did you stand outside camp? It`s not like they would know your there" Have already decided to complain to DHE about him and have told Chris who will probably have a word a lunchtime.Sorry for the moan, hope your all ok. xx

What a DREADFUL man I do hope complain. Hes obviously never lost anyone he cared for. How can people be so unfeeling. Nearly as bad as the clergyman who came to my MQs a long time ago to tell me that he was doing me a favour coming to see me after my husband had been killed in a flying accident. He had been killed at sea, and the clergyman was from the base. brenda

Kerry That's just awful. For anyone to say that is bad enough but knowing you had service connections it was totally uncaring. Please do complain strongly about him. I would have a good moan about the water and electric too. I have lived in MQs and know you have to allow access for workmen etc but with a 4 month old baby to consider, they should have given you better information.
