stricttly speaking it's assault. If it caused an injury (bruising etc) then its ABH, if its caused a more serious injury (blood shed/stitches, bones broken etc etc, (am not sure of the actual classification but you get the idea), then it's GBH. But I'm just being picky - quite right they are to refuse to let him back - kids get away with too much these days, and schools should have more power to expell unruly pupils. |

When a teacher threw a chair across the room in my daughter's class, the Deputy head of year said oh dear, he must have been stressed. Rules should work both ways. Jacky :-) |

I reckon the mother should have been more upset at her son's appalling behaviour! With an attitude like hers, it's no wonder he misbehaves. CB >|< |

i agree jacky but in my daughters school.i would not be suprised if a teacher felt like doing that.teachers have been assulted,my daughter was assulted nothing was done.they swear at the teachers.the police are always up there.setting fire to paper bins.vandelising vending machines which had to be taken away the list is endless.these kids have no respect as they have not had the disipline from their parents.i still believe that .xxxxx(: |

My daughter's school is quite well behaved with few problems from the pupils. Boys and girls are suspended for things but there are no problems with violence towards any staff. If ther was, I could perhaps understand the Teacher's 'stress'. This was because pupils were discussing an aspect of the lesson that he culdn't explain. It was a Religious Education lesson!! Jacky :-) |

arthur they don't need a reason.my daughter was stabbed in the leg with a pencil which could have snapped and caused injury to her leg just because she had called him by his name(not shortened)he went mad and stabbed her in the leg while in class with a teacher present.this is why society is like it is.because they know they cannot be touched by teachers.only the law could have had him arrested and chargedxxxxx(: |

I don't think the answer is to terrify children. I was scared of many of my teachers - some of whom were definitely sadistic - but I didn't respect them. I hated them and I think they would never be able to get away with what they did then nowadays. But there should be a balance, and schools can't discipline children if the parents don't back them up. nell |

Right or wrong There are some children who have behavior problems such as Asbergers and AHAD. And really can't help the way they behave. Alough It is NOT fair on the teachers and Pupils to endure such behavior, the parents and schools get limited help and support for these children. A ten year old boy in my sons school, is the most polite kid you ever met, get him in the school environment and most days he loses his temper. The slightest thing starts him off. It could be as simple as another child sitting in his chair. He often lashes out in temper at others. Yet when at home he relaxes and his behavior changes. His parents are doing all they can. They are a respectable couple, with an elder child who is fine,The school is doing their best, but resources are not there for more help and support. I think it is wrong to tar all with the same brush I wouldnt want to swap places with those parents for anything. |
