My in-laws have offered to have CJ and BJ for half term week at the end of May (I love them soooo much). Rich and I want to go somewhere hot, quiet and totally relaxing. Any ideas? Liz (loojay)

I went to Lanzarote, and found that it gave hubby and me the chance to totaly relax all day or if you get board with that then there are excusions to go on, and it is good weather as well, cheep booze and a good selection of food. Bev

Santorini. Going in May on daughters recommendation, Will be quiet at that time of year. Staying at a spa where you are given a treatment every day . Win

You could always try Madeira, won't be unbearably hot. Cheap booze, reasonably priced food, fabulous scenery. The only downside is the lack of cheap flights, unless you fly from Gatwick or Manchester. Lindy, that sounds like you have kicked one of your sons out and are letting out their room! Ros :-))

Hiya Ros, How you doing? The boys are only home weekends and the house has become too much for me to cope. Four bedrooms three bathrooms and too many stairs. We intend selling in a couple of years and will then be looking for a three bedroom bungalow. Might even look out your way, except I think that Madeira has too much rain. Lindy;-)))

Hi I am in the same position kids going to grans so I have booked today a cruise for hubby and myself leaving on 12 April from Palma and ports of call are Corsica,Italy,Nice,Mahon with lots of time in each port cannot wait. We never had a honeymoon as needed bridging loan for the purchase of our house so money saved for honeymoon went to bank. This is an informal cruise so no need for fancy clothes etc so should be good.Now looking into places to visit at each port and if it would be better going on cruise trips or doing our own thing.

We have ummed and aahhhed and finally decided... The Dominican Republic!!! Thank you all for your suggestions (and if the truth be known, I would much rather have gone to a Greek Isle or Portugal, but hubby was adamant he wanted the Caribbean). Liz
