Have to choose a 7 day trip to go on with my sister in law and her husband in sept when we will be in England (they are paying) we have not been to the Isle of Wight before , whats it like, any other suggestions ANNABEL

i was brought up there. expensive and not good for teenagers. great for smaller kids though. great beaches and better weather than most other places.

We had our honeymoon at Bonchurch, near Ventnor. I love the Isle of Wight. There is a lovely train there. I have also stayed at Sandown which has a lovely beach. :) Joy

We would be staying in Sandown, doing a couple of tours, will be going with Wallace Arnolds , my sister inlaw and her husband go away with them every six weeks her husband as parkinsons so can no longer take long overseas trips . what would the weather be like early sept, the Isle of Wight is some where I always wanted to see my dad was there during the war.ANNABEL

There's Osborne House, where Queen Victoria lived, which is interesting imho. Maybe Louise could be a guide for you? :-) Joy

Yes Maureen - it's still open. Last year our hotel gave us a card with 1 earring on and if we went to the pearl place we could have claimed the other one. Chrissie x

I think you have made my mind up for me, looks like sept 10th Isle of Wight here we come, so Louise if you spot a wallace arnold coach party look for two tall men one with parkinsons and two short ladys one a red head (me) and you will not miss my husbands accent very broad wiltshire most folk think he comes from somerset.cheers ANNABEL

dont go looking for the donkey at carisbrooke castle. they retired him years ago and wont replace him because of cruelty!! also carisbrooke is mega pricey if you pay to go in the inner circle. blackgang chine and robin hill are the best places really. flamingo park is also good. beaches are best in sandown shanklin and ryde. my mum and dad live in sandown so pop in for a brew!!

louise they dont use them on the wheels anymore to draw the bridge up or turn the water mill.

lovely annabel.i live in southsea on the mainland.it only takes 10 mins on the hovercraft.we maonly go over there for wekends when we want a relaxing weekendxxxxx(:
