Those sound like the Welsh cakes Lisa. I made my pancakes this year, with 4 oz gluten free flour, 2 eggs and half pint of apple juice (no milk), and they turned out very well, had a little molasses on them, yumm. Val |

My husband never forgets it is pancake day he loves them. His Aunty makes them (a secret family welsh receipe) she told him when he was yonger that on his wedding day she would give him the receipe. We came out of the church I heard him shout to his aunty in welsh well I am married know do I get the receipe. Of course at the wedding reception waiting for him on the top table was the receipe and before you ask no I cannot make them as nice as her. But we have butter and sugar on ours they are only small and I think I had about 12 last year and our two children 4 and 6 most of eaten out 5 each, I have learnt know not to eat before!!!!! |

My recipe says, 4 oz flour, 1 egg, half pint milk. Have heard that if you want to omit milk because of an intolerance, you can substitute the milk with orange juice, but i'm going to experiment using apple juice tonight. Val |

Pancakes main Ingredients 120g plain flour 2 eggs 300ml milk vegetable oil for frying Method 1. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the centre. Add the eggs and beat with a whisk or fork. Gradually beat in the milk, drawing in the flour from around the edge, until you have a smooth batter. 2. Cover and leave to stand in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. 3. Heat a little oil in a 18cm heavy-based frying pan, tilting the pan to spread the oil evenly. 4. Pour in just enough batter to thinly coat the base of the pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes until golden on the under side. Flip over, and cook the other side until golden. 5. Transfer to a plate and keep warm. 6. Repeat with the remaining batter to make eight pancakes. |

I know I am going to sound really stupid, but every year I phone my Mum up and ask how to make the pancake mix. I remeber its egg flour and milk but how much? I dont want to have to make that hone call again. I dont usualy write it down, and then forget the following year. Thanks Debbie |

We have been married for 45 years and my good lady has always made her own pancakes. This year, the grand-children and others visited, so she bought the mixture. They were very well received and you would be pushed to say which was the better. Happy days |

my daughter tried the ready made ones and thought they were great, but said she missed standing waiting for the pancakes to be cooked so that her and her brother could add the lemon juice and sugar like they did when they were little. |
