Rabbits in the garden - how do I get rid of them!!

We have wire netting all around our garden. Last year a baby bunny found a gap and demolished a row of brussels sprouts. We have wire netting on the gate too. Heather |

Brian, My father is a landscape gardener ( Member of Chelsea Gold winning team), he has gardens open to the public and has thousands of rabbits which are a big problem when you have lots of young juicy plants. He goes and shoots them every now and then or sets the rottweiller on them. I'm afraid you're not going to have much luck unless there's a legal way to gas them or put them on the bunny 'pill'. Couldn't you supply the 'mukluk trade with fresh rabbit skins, after all they're high fashion now? Louise |

Louise - I'd love to let your Jack Russell tire out the rabbits, or even have his evil way with them . . . all of them! Seriously though, to see the rabbits eating the grass occasionally was lovely, unfortunately the don't know the difference between grass and expensive plants - or any plant for that matter. |

When we had rabbit problem in veg garden, had a special snare, like a noose put where they run. The rabbits were then nice to eat even if we had no veg to go with them!! Val |

Trouble with our Jack Russell is that he would probably try to tire out the rabbits to see if he could try out rabbit/Jack Russell hybridisation!!! He's already tried to make pink puppies with our daughter's Clifford The Big Red Dog and Cat/Dog hybrids with our poor cat. Rabbit stew is lovely couldn't you catch them and sell them to the local butcher? Louise |

Fairy Godmother - I don't dislike rabbits, it's the damage they do that I don't like. I used to love seeing the rabbits in our garden but last year they ate everything in sight. |

Does anyone have a solution for getting rid of wild rabbits in the garden, that eat everything & anything in sight? Don't suggest a gun - I'm not stopping up all night waiting for them! I'm not averse to a personal reply . . . nudge, nudge, wink wink. |
