I loved the crombie coat I had in the 70s when I was still at school, though being small, it never hung right in me lol, worn with black Oxford bags and oxblood Doctor Marten boots....I probably looked a proper idiot, but at the time I though I was the bees knees lol

My friend had the full Bay City Rollers outift which I was sooo jealouse of. Now I thank my mum for having the sense to refused my constant begging for one. I did have a t-shirt with their picture on which my mother (she says accidentally) ironed their faces off. My absolute favourite outfit in the early eighties was a bright red shiny flying suit with loads of zips and pockets which I thought looked fantastic. Lorrainex

When I was small my mother made me a Johnston tarten kilt, with a little waistcoat and a white lace trimmed blouse. I felt like the bee's whiskers wearing this outfit. She also kitted me a white angora twinset with mickey mouse, donald duck and pluto on it. I loved that too. Jo.

My dad was made redundant and we had no money. I begged and begged my mum for a pair of trousers I'd seen in a catalogue and she finally gave in. The belting I got from her when I came downstairs with them cropped to the shins and a tartan scarf stitched round the hems has scarred me for life! Daisy

When I was about 7 I had a frock which was white with blue polka dots, blue puff sleeves and a blue bodice which I adored. I was really miffed when I got too big for it and it was given to the girl next door! I also had a lovely floaty dress which my uncle bought me in a Liberty's sale for £8 in 1970-something. I wore it when I "got off" with my first love (aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!) Nowadays I like anything non-iron machine-washable! nell
