I'm having some real problems with my 206. It seems to be mis firing, and overfuelling, which is wearing down my exhaust (both parts), and costing me money!! Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the problem with your car, and was it fixed with minimal costing or was it extortionate???? This is my first car, and for the past month I have had nothing but problems with it. I got it in August. It's T Reg (6 years old) automatic. |

Thanks. It's probably the ECU cos I had a brand new cat fitted a few weeks ago. And a new black box fitted today. The mechanic at the Kwik Fit thinks it's something more complicated, something that he can't fix and suggested to take it to a dealer. Something that is making the exhaust wear out. It would make sense cos the box didn't look that old at all. I live in the South (Hampshire). |

Timing??? Yeah, I know it's been in the news. Gaaaah! They had a recall about something else, which I have had it seen to. Oh I hate my car! |

I have a 206, and have a problem when reversing out of my drive in the morning (no not my driving!) it keeps cutting out. Have been back to the garage, but they could find nothing wrong. I think it is because I must (for safety) reverse slowly out of my drive, but when they tested it in reverse they were able to put their foot down! Also have noticed a sluggishness when putting my foot down and needing acceleration, seems a bit slow to pick up. Other than that it is a great car, and I am quite happy with it. Frances |

Sometimes it goes into safe mode when the engine is cold. I have to pull over and restart, and then it's fine. Have taken it back, but they could find nothing wrong with it. It doesn't happen too often, but it does happen. I'm not mad! I love my car, just so many problems, it's driving me potty, no pun intended! |

Hi again Chloe, I said yesterday you may have e.c.u. fault if your local auto electrician has problems with diagnosis/testing tell him to try a firm in Gillingham Kent called B.B.A. Reman who are e.c.u. specialists. They have website and have common problems page. Hope this helps. Peter |

hi chloe just spoke to my partner whose a car whizz lol and he says this: it might be the lamba sensor (which reads how much petrol and oxygen mix is going down the exhaust if its at fault it might be sending back a wrong signal to your ECU) it might be reading that you have more or less petrol in than u should have so is trying to compansaite by putting more or less petrol in so is therefore overflowing or running dry. he recommends that you go to a mechanic who has access to diagnostic tools...in the area where we live (yorkshire) a backstreet garage would cost £40 and a dealer would cost £80...sorry if nothing makes sense lol i find it hard to write his mechanical talk into english lol |
