Nice story, Daisy. Lots of loving couples in those days - perhaps there still are, but I fear that while we have gained a lot, we have lost just as much, as viewed through my dulled eyes. But if Roy Keane is magic, they are duller than I thought. Happy days |

Nothing to do with Tony and Cherie but thought you'd enjoy a love story. My Nana and Grandad met aged 13 married at 24 and were married for 62 years before she died. From the day they met he gave her flowers every Friday and when she died in 1997 my Mum began giving them to him every Friday. He died last August and now we all buy flowers on Friday. Daisy |

Thank you all for your interest. In my day a man (y)earned for a woman and it was a nice gesture after she had finished the mangling and doing the front step. As was pointed out, she earns more than he does - which is a shocking indictment of this country. I,m not knocking Cherie - said in the paper that Roy Keane gets £95,000 a WEEK. |

In twenty two years and 11 months my partner has bought me flowers once. I nearly killed him. It was five to five on a saturday and not only did I not possess a vase, I didn't have anything that was suitable as a container. I had to run to the local secondhand shop and buy the most disgusting white, orange and brown 70's pyrex vase. Now of course, I have him trained, he buys me booze and fags! |

From the recent revelations that Tony has never brought flowers for Cherie (Gasp), R&J decided to do a feature and asked people in similar floral posistions to phone in. He (meaning Richard as Judy doesn't speak), asked if Cherie was watching could she phone in too. Well she did and got a free bunch of flowers. Arrrrrr. I think she was just trying to show she is human and not a post box after all. She has needs for flowers too. Doesn't look like she suceeded though. |

Please note. I am an old romantic and am only being mischievous, but in this day and age of equality, etc, why should Tony be pilloried for not bringing Cherie flowers. And why should she ring up the Richard and Judy show........ Happy days. |
