I don't think Camilla should be supported by public money, but if Charles does marry her and she carries out public engagements as his wife, then she is probably entitled to funding under the same rules as Diana was. Not to say I agree with it, as I think the whole business of Camilla/Charles/Diana was a disgrace, and I think Charles should eventually abdicate in favour of William, when William is older and wiser. Sorry, but I still think having a royal family is a valuable asset as a tourist attraction and focal point for the nation. The Queen has been an excellent ambassador for the UK throughout her reign, but I agree that 'minor royals' could be dropped from the list for public funding of their living costs and just be paid for any appearances they make. Every time I've ever been past Buckingham Palace (quite frequently), there have been flocks of tourists around it. As for Prince Harry not looking like his father, I think the older he gets, the more like Prince Philip he look- and red hair runs in Diana's family, so who knows? CB >|< |

The whole Royal Family must drive the Queen mad with thier constant faux-pas and embarrasments, If Charles wants that old donkey Camilla by his side he should pay for all her needs and not the tax payers, Incidently,,,dont know if its just me,,,but i dont hink Prince Harry looks much like Charles |

None of them should! Used to be a royalist but no more! They think of us as peasants and, truth be told ,majority of us can run rings round them in the intelligence stakes. Let's get rid ofthe parasites - castles etc would raise as much vacant as occupied and what a saving on the civil list - who needs to queue to look at someone who only carries 8 pints of blood like others - long time getting diluted from blue/royal. NO NO NO. Personally do not like the woman one bit. In my job(RAF) I deal with VIPs and when she flew into Lyneham, she wanted VIP treatment and the lounge opened, just because she is Charles`s mistress, neither happened which I was glad about. |

Camilla should have nothing. If it was'nt for her ( and Charlie boy) Prince's William and Harry would probably have a mum instead of just memories. Alyson |

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and maybe she has personal qualities we don't know about. I think she's tried to keep out of the limelight. Prince Charles is no oil-painting either and I can't say much for his personality. If everyone chose only the beautiful there would be a lot of people left on the shelf! nell |

Can anybody Explain "Why"a supposedly "Sane" man, would choose to be with someone who looks as though she tossed up with the Backend of a Horse "And Lost" rather than a Beautiful young Woman?.It baffles me. And NO she should not get a penny of Taxpayers money spent on her,Whichever form or devious ways are employed to do it. They call her"Maitress-en Titre" I would think Mattress would be more likely. I understand that Prince Charles said some time ago that he would never remary. As she is divorced, I think that Camilla Parker-Bowles should be supported financially by her ex-husband. Joy |

Anyone who works deservs to get paid for it. If Camilla becomes a "working" royal then yes pay her the going rate. Would any of the republicans care to speculate just who might be elected Head of State in this republican utopia and will they command the sort of respect abroad that the Windsors get?. Will they cost less than the royals(bearing in mind that the palaces etc will still exist)? Do you want yet more elections and electioneering? It seems to me that the present arrangement of a sort of random genetic lottery works pretty well and to change it for all the razamataz and costs of an elected President (and family) would bring no advantage whatsoever. I used to work in London and although this is only a rough indication, most tourists who stopped me to ask for directions wanted to go to Westminster abbey/St Paul's/Westminster Cathedral/Harrods/Marks & Spencer/Trafalgar Square. I think I was asked for Buckingham Palace and Kensington palace once each. Of course we could get rid of the royal family and still keep Buck House, Kensington Palace etc as tourist attractions. I do think if charles & Camilla want to be on the right side of the morality blanket then that's OK, but I don't want to support either of them. nell |

Isn,t Camilla English. Has she paid taxes? If foreigners can come over here and get public money........ I,m not against immigration per se, but would like it controlled. If we are to have a republic who would be president; vice-president et al? How much money would they and their assistants; flunkeys ,etc cost. I,m sure London would be jam packed with tourists to see John Prescott, or whoever. Happy days. ow much would they swallow up. |

Hi Lisa, Adultry isn't illegal. Immoral, maybe, but not illegal Charles and Di were both unfaithful and it was a long time ago. If he wants to marry Camilla he should. As long as I don't have to pay for it. Gwynne |

i still think the royals used diana .she was pretty and could produce the heir to the throne.they used her like a rag and threw her away!!camilla couldn't come up with the goods.so when diana gave the royals what they wanted.they got divorced and cahrles and camilla got together.i feel they shouldn't get married in church as i feel charles commited adultery.which in the eyes of the law is a criminal offencexxxx(: |

Object Les - or do you mean N. Ireland? If Charles wants a mistress then he should keep her in a separate residence as did his ancestors. She sneaked into Clarence House. Ann |
