I am finding that the buying of Easter eggs is getting out of hand. Ok when you have little ones to buy for. But what happens when your children and Grandchildren etc. Do not appreciate Eggs. Most of them do not really know the true meaning of Easter anyway. My daughter, says her friends get money. I do not agree. What do you all think? Jenny |

I have always bought my children eggs and only today my younger son (10) said that he remembered me getting a big bag of tiny eggs and hiding them all over the garden and would I do it again this year? Well, yes of course I would - as long as they let me eat some! nell |

When my children were little, being from a big family, I have known them to have at least a dozen eggs each. Now the last two at home are 21 and 15yrs. The eldest is not interested at all, being a Grown Man now, "so he says". Youngest a young lady, who does not eat Chocolate very often. But she still gets half a dozen from my Husbands family. I have known me to have to give them away to my friends little girl. I only buy now for my three Grandsons and Hubby's two young Nieces. Someone in Hubby's family has suggested sending £5 note instead. I think it is ridiculous. Jenny |

Debs. They still both have their Advent Calenders. Perhaps I have not celebrated Easter as much as I should have. You are all making me feel guilty now. It is just that as they get older they seem to think it is just like another day where you spend money on them. |

All depends on the person buying them, and the person recieving them. My two (9 & 5) have luxury easter eggs each year A la Pound shop Elaine x :o)) |

Mine are aged 11, 16 and 18 and they don't like the big hollow eggs. However, if I stopped doing the mini treasure hunt on Easter Sunday I could have a problem on my hands! Last year they clubbed together and bought me choccies, which was lovely and they always make up a little basket of choccies and a posy of flowers for their grandparents. Grandparents don't give them eggs, but usually give them £5 each to buy something nice as it's a special occasion. Daisy |

We lived in China for many years and enjoyed many of their lovely customs and festivals. At this time of year they have beautiful flowering plum and cherry trees intheir homes to celebrate Spring and their New Year-Why does Britain have so few festivals? On returning to UK I kept this custom in our own home.I go out and collect winter twigs which I paint white and put in a pot.I make the blossom from tissue paper in various shades of pink.Among the branches I hang tiny eggs, nests and chicks. At the base of the tree there is 'Grass' with Easter Bunnies in. I hope some of you might like the idea and copy it this year yourselves.-Rose |
