Hi All I am about to put trellis around my garden and want to put climbing plants along it. Does anybody know of any very fast growing ones that flower during the summer except for Clematis. Any advice appreciated. Regards Alyson

Hi All Thankyou for your suggestions. I have passion flower somewhere else in my garden but for some reason it is very slow. Perhaps i should try feeding it !. Regards ALLY

"Gardening time nearly here" she says.... not where I'm sitting it's not!! Still got snow on the gound, and we hit a high today of 2C, but it's supposed to snow again next week. I have a hyacinth starting to flower that I forced indoors... does that count??? Brenda

Unlucky Brenda. I'm in Oregon and the grass looks like it needs mowing it's been so mild. The dandelions, snowdrops and crocuses are already out. Crista

Racing girl. PLEASE SEND SOME OF YOUR SNOW OVER HERE. I have daffodils in flower and my climbing rose has flowered all through winter. Just goes to show how mild it has been. Regards Ally

Go to the library,it saves you buying, and look for the Garden Expert books by Dr Hussayen-He covers just about everything you could need. A word of warning,I picked up on your word Fast Growing-DON'T BE TEMPTED to buy the Russian vine or any other similar .My next door neighbour planted one on a trellis on our party wall.Last year I had to get him round to look at the damage this had done to my Bathroom roof. The vine had grown rapidly and had gone UNDER my roof and appeared ,hanging very decoratively, down the far wall. The thing is an absolute menace. It took us both all last summer to erradicate it.It anchors on cracks in walls and can regrow from the smallest bit--Good Luck Rose

There is a variety of sweetpea that grows fast and comes up each year [full of colour too]but needs trimmed once in a while,or you will need a ladder to reach the top.it's a perpetual variety.Fred.ptfg&a&g&s.

Hi Fred. Do you know the name of the variety.

I can't remember after all this time ,but heard reference to it on a thread late last year ,so it's still around, i think perpetual may be in the name somewhere.a lad up the gardens grew it ,and had deliberatly let it go ,with the result that it was entwined in his apple tree,it looked really spectacular.Fred.ptfg.&a&g&s.
