how come my family tree only goes back to 1826....................................after weeks and weeks of searching but in 10minutes i got my husbands family tree right back to 1650

Hi Lisa, If you did your husband's family on the IGI make sure you check it out. There are a lot of mistakes in there. The only thing worse than a brick wall is chasing the wrong ancestors. Gwynne

Hi Lisa I agree with Guinevere . I've done exactly that when I first started tracing my tree. Now any info passed on to me by kind souls etc I always wait till I have verified the source myself as and when I can. So without wanting to burst your bubble ................. Lisa Same thing Dont take the Ancestral Files on there are absolutely correct. Some of them are a complete work of fiction. You must always check info on there out with the original records. As already said, theres nothing worse than chasing the wrong family line. I know, I've done it. Margaret
