hi guys me and my partner have been together 15 yrs and now decided to tie the knot,as we are not church goers i would really love a non religious ceremony e.g. outside in the woods with a wiccan preist and the tying of hands but as my partner is not really into all things pagan she justs thinks a registry office could do. any suggestions

The thing is,Is a "Wiccan Priest" legally entitled to perform a marriage ceremony?.Perhaps your Partner wants it done "Lawfully" and not a "Mick Jagger"type of wedding,aka.his with Jerry Hall.I suggest you do it "Her Way" Best wishes to you both,and a Happy Life. Hal.

How about a stately home or castle?

hi there, my sis is getting married in july and the registrar is coming to the hotel and will pretty much go along with anything non religious. if you 'google' alternative weddings there are lots of great ideas!

Got married in a gorgeous country hotel. I wanted the big dress, bridesmaids etc but not church. It was a fantastic day!

Hi there One of my friends got married in Gretna Green in the Blacksmith's smithy (?) It involves binding hands together and I don't think its particularly religious. I think your own idea of having a ceremony outside is a good one. Could you not do it your own way with all your guests and then get it done 'officially' at a registrars in your own time. Lynne

I married at Hedingham castle in 2003. It was a fantastic day, we wed in the banqueting hall and had a horses and carriage to keep up the historical theme.

Hi Sean, have you tried the Humanist Society? They are probably on-line now. They used to produce brochures on non-religious weddings, funerals and naming ceremonies.
