For a few weeks now my cousins little girl has had an "imaginary" friend. She calls him Pip and when asked what he looks like she describes a child like an urchin! Anyway they live facing a churchyard and the other day my cousin asked her where Pip lived. Her daughter (4yrs) pointed to the graveyard and said that he lived there!! This morning my cousin went and had a look in the small churchyard and there is a grave there for a 7yr old boy called Pip in 1879!!! Is this the Pip she is seeing....It sent a chill down my spine when she rang me earlier to tell me! |

That's really fascinating Bev. They do say children are receptive to spirits and all things spiritual. I'd be inclined to believe her! Sarah |

Would she be seeing him as a "real" boy? |

If only we knew Bev. I guess the only way to know for sure is if you experience it yourself. |

I find the whole thing fascinating too Bev. I really hope that when we die there is something 'more'! |

There must be....I think there have been too many instances of others experiencing it for there not to be something in it! |

My Son had 'Jim'. Jim told him never to touch the 'hot water tank' as he could burn his hand, I have never ever called it that, it has always been the 'emersa tank', and not to remove plug covers as they can give you a painful burn also! Jim told him he had to look left then right when crossing a road, Son was 18 mths then, so hadn't done that stuff yet! Then one day went to a kiddies party, never been to the house before, driving there, son said, "Jim just told me there are going to be chickens and baby rabbits in the garden" When we got there, there were chickens and guinea pigs!! But thanks to 'Jim' my son was given warnings that he has always adhered to. Would love to go back to those days and ask more!! Kim |

I had an imaginary friend called Teddy. My mother never found out if he was a teddy bear, or a boy called Teddy. I think he developed as a way of getting more attention after my brother was born. He was a great nuisance as he was always falling over and would only stop crying if he had a sweetie. I had to have a sweetie too and then I would eat Teddy's because he didn't want it any more. Manipulative or what?!!! My best friend at secondary school had an imaginary friend called Hetty who lived at the bottom of the garden and invited her to tea parties. nell |

Young children do SEE and will continue to do so until the adult world gives them the message that it is odd to do so.That is why so many of us are now unable to use our inherant abilities which come as part of our natural make-up. We have been well and truely turned off ,sadly; as to believe in this ability and to develop it is not to attract devils and malevolent spirits,as has been said to me on here, but for us to be in touch with our loved ones.Through this contact we lose the fear of death and also the feeling of lonliness and isolation so often common in our modern society. I am sure the little girl sees her Pip and she will continue to enjoy his company. I think it is lovely. I still have both my parents with me and enjoy my contacts with the spirit world. Rose |

my daughter had one called humphrey, he first got introduced to grandad (my dad) while we were on holiday one year, dad played along with her, leaving a seat empty by her for humphrey, this friend was naughty though and wrote her initials on the walls and drew people, till i told her to tell him shed get the telling off if he did it again, suprise suprise he didnt, he did it down my bed instead, now shes older she does take interest in all spiritual matters, and has been told she has this man who was around her as a child as her spirit guide and been given his name shes fine and level headed about it all |

When I was a child I had an imaginary friend, Mellum - don't know if I've spelt it right, Mellum, sorry! - but I don't remember her. Presumably I made her up just to keep me company, as this was before my brothers were born. Apparently I used to tell Mum off, 'cos when she got in the car she always sat on Mellum. Clumsy, or what. |
