Today while out shopping, I saw around a dozen Firemen standing paying their respects to Fleur Lombard at the permanent memorial to her, erected opposite the new Co-op store. It must be the anniversary of her death and about 10 years since she was killed fighting that fire. I was truly touched to see them mark the occasion and remember her. There can't have been many amongst them that were there at the time - so to the Avon and Somerset Fire Brigade - my respects and admiration for taking time out to remember a lost colleague. Magsxx N.B.. - may not be Avon and Somerset Brigade now - but sentiments the same

There are three tall blocks in the same road, we lived in the shorter of the three for a while, idiots used to set fire to the waste shoots and that was scary enough with fireman all over the building. I really feel for the families of the two brave men lost to the service.
