i am a typical male,i never read instructions when i do a job around the house, and this includes cooking methods, apart from recipies..So here am i ,in the middle of asda, buying new baking trays for the umpteenth time in a year ,complaining bitterly that cooking utensils don't last two minutes these days to a shelf packer, when the instructions on the tin catch my eye,.Yes of course i know you have to wash the tins before use ,any fool knows that ,BUT,further words catch Freds eye,do NOT exceed temperatures of 200 degrees wten using a coated tin.I had the grace to blush like a school maiden ,and Liz is still laughing, but the lady i was bitching too gave me the female put down look, and Fred knows that look well. I don't go to that store no more lol.Fred.Ptfg&a&g&w.

It seems bob that the coating starts to delaminate from the tin at these temperatures and it peels off when you wash them,it could also cause the food to stick as well i suppose.Fred.ptfg.&a&g7&w.p/s Linda i suppose it's about gas mark 8? pretty hot.

Fred - invest in a 'Mermaid' baking tray - they are so tough I don't think even you could wreck them :))) - a bit more pricey but worth it!

What's the use of a baking tray that you can't use over gas mark 6? Sounds like you have a case for trade descriptions to me LOL :))))

Fred, Just logged on from Oz. Does that mean that the food you cooked became teflon coated? and are you now able to claim teflon coated innards? Me, I just 'stick' to my old pans and grease 'em -save the pots on the stove top for any incinerator jobs.

I have a thing about microwaves Lisa, don't use 'em,i stick to the basics ovens and saucepans.I have blown up one mic',with a potatoe yet,and spread egg all over another ,well ,it did say stick a pin in the yolk to prevent exploding ,which i did ,but they did'nt say [a few times].My mum must have passed on her expertise because i can remember walking into her kitchen in linc's one day to find the new mic'i [had never used one before]making funny noises and seeing inside looking like one of these plasma balls, yep,mu,m had put the meal in complete with tin tray,it was quite spectacular to say the least.needless to say ,it was years before i bought one for liz,and now she is the one who uses it ,not ruddy likely says i.Fred.Ptfg&a&g&w
