Hiya, glad to hear you had a happy reunion! First of all, is there ANYTHING on the photo (front or back) that could give a clue. Name of a photographer, postcard company, town etc. If you have no starting point, then the only thing I can suggest is writing to one of the family history magazines as they sometimes feature photos like this with appeals for help. You never know, someone might see it. Oh, and you could put it on the GC photospage and ask if anyone recognises it. Hope something of this helps. Maz. XX |

I am now in touch with my Aunt after she saw my quest to research our families, she is a wonderful woman and has sent me photos and been warm and wonderful and we had an instant bond as we undertsand the importance of our heritage.... My question to any of you, is that she found this photo her father had placed behind another in a frame I would say it has a huge significance as both his parents were killed during WW1 It looks to be an orphanage or childrens home but we have no way of knowing where, or who the children are (if they are my grandfather and her father and our Aunt) Does anyone have any suggestions on how we might go about identifying it or if there is a web site that might be able to help in this? |
