Hi Everyone, I've noticed a couple of threads about this and although have no personal knowledge or experience, thought I'd let you know that Horizon are showing a programme on this, this week. BBC2 9pm, think it's Thursday. They've followed two families affected by this and thought maybe it may be of some interest or help to some. Take care all Kxx |

Thanks for the reminder. Both of my fella's boys suffer with ADHD, the eldest lives with him so I am in regular contact with the condition - will be interesting to see how others cope with it. Cheers, Anne |

I struggled with a boy who prob had this but it wasn't recognised as a condition 25 years ago! His concentration span was abysmal and he drove me mad! He has gone on to be a National Chess Master, in America, to my utter amazement.......... |

Just finished watching this. My boyo hasn't got ADHD, but has probably got Asperger's or similar. I was particularly interested in the genetic bit and how it affects adults too. What did others think who HAVE got ADHD kids please? Maz. XX |

It wore me out watching it - and I only have contact with it at weekends with my fellas boy of 14!! It's like a split personality - he can be the nicest lad you ever met - funny and entertaining - then he can be a monster - add to that teenage hormones......... aarrggghh!!! Both of his boys have it - their mother then recognised that she also did, when she learnt more about it - and her eldest by another man also has it........... |

I received a message from a girl called Natalie last night got my name from contact.org I will put on this site and you can tell me what you all think this is the message she sent below. I grew up with an older brother with ADHD and it was a really difficult time for all the family. I'm now an undergraduate psychology student conducting my research project into ADHD, one of my aims is to find how siblings of children with ADHD are affected. I would like parents of children with ADHD to complete a short 5 minute questionnaire which i can send you in the post. If you would be willing to help me out I would be so grateful as I'm having a hard time finding willing participants. I realise that you're probably very busy but you would really be helping me out. PLease e-mail me and i can give you further details |
