I am surprised to hear that Rose. I haven't read the other 3 myself yet but they have certainly kept my other half quiet for the last month! lol. When I was on holiday last year I found myself sat on the beach next to somebody reading the German version of Angels and Demons! lol Jeanette x

Having Read Da Vinci Code-I am of the opinion that this book iis pure plagerism.Brown has copied earlier works by the researchers Michael Biagent,Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln and probably influenced by The works of Umberto Eco.He has rehashed much of their research. His work is not fresh or original.I do not think it was a particularly well written book.I found the four books of his which I have read so far very disappointing.-Rose

Hi Jeanette, I have read The DaVinci Code, and I've also read Cracking The DaVinci Code. The first, I even switched off the telly so as to have no distractions. The second - cracking the code, was an eye opener as to what has happened to a lot of religions in the past, all the slaughter because they had different ideas about the origins of Jesus and Christianity. I shall definately watch The Real DaVinci Code! I'm glad my father said "When you are older and more able to make your own decisions, then you can decide on a religion". Regards - John.

CB Well it certainly served Dan Brown well didn't it! lol I have read the book and thoroughly enjoyed it, but do take it for what it is - a story. I am just interested to see what the experts make of the claims made in the book. Jeanette x

Jeanette, Whatever mysteries are uncovered now, there is never going to be any chance of proof after 2000 years, so it will remain a mystery. The Catholic Church was founded by his followers many years after Jesus died, and Rome was sacked by barbarian hordes. It is very unlikely that even the Romans who established Constantinople would have had any true relics relating to him, and even less likely that any would still survive. Nevertheless, an interesting theory and a good basis for authors wishing to create bestsellers. CB >|<

Millions of readers have been hooked on Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code, but what do historians think of the book and do its major claims stand up to scrutiny? Has the truth about the Holy Grail been suppressed by the Catholic Church?
