Joined this site on Tuesday, let in by my brother, who had already entered information. I couldn't put my hands on my 1881 info at the time I joined, so have not entered anything yet. Today my brother asks me furiously what I have done - MY information is on there (How? How? I havent entered my census stuff yet!), it has made my brother and me into cousins, and it has made our 2 x Grandmother into his 3 x Grandfather!!!! Anyone else had this problem? I'm leaving it to my brother to sort out, but what will happen if I now DO enter my census info - will it make us second cousins?! |

That's really strange, have you tried emailing lost cousins to ask them? I know when you refer people, you tick all the relations that you have in common and THEIR relationship to those relations. Did your brother do this for you? If he did perhaps it is him who has made the mistake and related you wrongly to them. I know I was going to refer my husbands great uncle but I couldn't get my head round how he was related to all my husbands relations so I didn't bother - just sent him the website name instead! Incidentally, if you enter more than 50 relations before 15th December then you get to be a member for free for all of 2005 (they are planning on introducing a yearly charge in January). Lorraine |
