ive just had my results for my blood test.its not perfect lol. my immune system and my white and red cells are perfect..phewwww!!!!! but...........my creative protien is 15 and my enthrocyte sedumentation rate is 26.apparently this indicates a severe inflamation of the muscles!!! i dont feel like a fraud now lol.i knew all along that it was muscular but it was hard convincing others. she has given me a 4week course of steriods to see if they help. so no work for me again .....my boss is gonna love me lol.susie

You vain creature! lol ;-))))) I know what you mean though. My sister gets steroids now and again for her ME when it's bad and she don't half pile the weight on. Hence she only has them when it's really bad. At least you've got a diagnosis now so at least you know what it's all about

Age defo has summat to do with it Susie, and it's nothing to do with this bag of crisps I'm feeding my face with either! lol Seriously though, I've noticed the weight creeping on over the last couple of years and it seems much harder to loose these days too. I don't know about middle age spread....I've got middle of the body spread! lol

Susie Vic didn't gain weight at all when he had Polymyalgia and started on 15 mg steroids but the relief in only three days was remarkable he was able to reduce the dose gradually with no ill effects and has had no trouble since coming off steroids three years ago. It did take 10 months treatment in all but well worth it. Hope you get a good response too. After one month you are usually put on another tablet you take just once a week first thing in the morning as well as the steroid. Linda x
