Put them in a bag and take them back to the post office. It happened a lot round here, it even made the news, and the post office denied they had anything to do with it.. So Anglia TV filmed it...and caught them red-handed (or should I say red-banded lol)

It has been happening for years and years and I don't know why the Postmen aren't prosecuted for dropping litter, after all they don't biodegrade and can be harmful to animals etc. I hate seeing them all over the pavements and they could easily be reused. I also hate receiving my letters and cards bent in two and often torn from being banded together, surely there is a better way now.

Good Morning everyone. Please don't be cross with all of us Posties, most of us do try to keep hold of the rubber bands, there are the odd ones that snap and fly off in different directions and yes there are a few rogue Posties who don't care about what they do, hopefully they are in the minority. As to the mail splitting because of the bands, we have no choice as to using them to bundle up, i do apologize to customers if a piece of mail has got split. It doesn't happen alot. The bands are supposed to bio-degrade, they don't, they just become useless to use after a couple of times. Linda xxxxx Postie in Brackley (currently on sick leave)
