good morning everyone, hope you all have a good day. This makes you think doesn't it - as the sunday school song went -- count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will amaze you what the Lord has done. I have many blessings today. Dear Helen You have made me feel so much better. I am a grandmother who retired early to help my daughters with their children There are days when I am absolutely exhausted ( there are 7 children under 5) I feel my husband and I are constantly changing our plans to suit the family. I feel we never have time to ourselves We help with laundry, shopping Housework. We walk their dogs, keep them for holiday times.Drop everything to look after children, when they are sick. I have spent sleepless nights taking my turn in hospital with sick babies the n gone to pick up the next lot in the morning. They have turned our house into a giant nursery. We drive 250 miles to look after 3 of them for 3 days a week. We love them all dearly and after reading this I will never, ever ,ever, complain again. Thank you Helen Kindest regards Rosemary

rosemary, you should get a medal for all that support you show your children. But isn't it fantastic you have all that family, you see every day. I can't wait to have grandchildren, though I will probable be exhausted too, after a day with little uns. enjoy Joy

Hi joy I am not one in a million but I suspect one of a million grans doing the same thing. I gave up a lucrative professional career for the children and financially we are a lot worse off. (My husband is already retired) We both agree we did the right thing. We are tired but content. Our children are all professionals and their contribution to society is much more, than we could give, now. Knowing their children are loved and cared for gives them peace of mind to do a good job. But you are right I see these little ones almost every day some people never see their grandchildren. I feel very privelaged to play such an important part in their young lives and Helen's message made me remember that. I do not miss the stress of my career one little bit and there is nothing nicer in the whole world than a hug from a little person whose forgotton they only saw you yesterday.
