Sunshine of Your Smile, The

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear face that holds no sweeter smile for me
Were you not mine, how dark the world would be
I know no light above that could replace
Love's radiant sunshine in your dear face.

Give me your smile, the love light in your eyes,
I could not hold a fairer paradise
Give me the right to love you all the while,
My world forever, the sunshine of your smile

Its made me cry cos my mum in law used to sing this to me...x

Oh Tina..so do I..Can hear my mum in law singing it now and she always did movements with her hands while she sang it..Having a good old cry here cos I do miss her..Not many people get on with in laws but this little lady was so special to me.she was 4`11..so tiny and used to take her out with me and when she got tired at the end of the night...now I can laugh..I used to give her a piggy back home..can you imagine it..she was in her 80`s!!! Glad I got it for you and thank you for reminding me.....xxx

Wanda.
This is another weepy one, My grandmother used to sing.

If those lips could only speak
Those eyes could only see
If those beautiful golden tresses
Were there in reality

Could I only take your hand
As I did when you took my name
But its only a beautiful picture
In a beautiful goldenframe

Thanks for reminding me about this song. I used to sing it to my daughters when they were little but had forgotten until I saw your thread.
I actually still have the record somewhere.

Lovely words and so nice to read others memories of it.
