We have also had recently 3 chaps shot in Bishops Stortford a father and son, and a friend/associate, a little boy left without a dad, as well as all the other relatives left grieving yet another 'sign of the times'.
If this is what the 21st century will be remembered for i'd rather go back to my dead rellie time and suffer the squallor and deprivation they had.!!!

Jude you took the words right out of my mouth.

I have 4 sons all bought up the same, same morals and values instilled in each of them, but they are all different, we bring our children up to make choices in life, but we cannot expect them all to make the same choices, having said that they must all take ownership and responsibility for the choices they do take.
My heart goes out to all involved in this tragic case.

Hi Gwynne - l hope you don't mind my saying this, and l'm not having ago honest, but...........

It might be that his parents have'nt brought him up to be like this, but very very sadly he has turned out to be like this - he may be with the wrong crowd, he could be using drugs, booze , he could have mental issues anyway without the drugs etc etc - but his parents could be as shocked and as devestated as anyone else, but you could also be right - l still hope they catch him and he gets a very just sentence.

If the murderer is a child he will face the Childrens Court - and the penalty will be a slap over the wrist with a damp train ticket!!

I hope the murderer is named - his parents need to be held to account for raising such a child.

Rhys's parents seem an incredibly strong couple...........his dad's poem was touching they are clearly celebrating his life as well as mourning his death.

God bless all of them.

The funeral of Rhys, an Everton fan, who was shot outside the Fir Tree pub, Croxteth Park, as he returned from football training, will be held in Liverpool's Anglican cathedral on Thursday. His parents have asked mourners to wear football shirts or other bright clothes.

KEITH H Report 1 Sep 2007 06:07

The wall of silence shielding the identity of the hooded teenager who allegedly shot 11-year-old Rhys Jones appeared finally to be crumbling last night.

Local people have been talking openly about an individual they believe to be implicated in the murder on Aug 22.

There are suggestions that his name has started to feature in graffiti in the Croxteth area of Liverpool.

Detectives are understood to have been given a name as long ago as last weekend. Since then the prime focus of their investigation has been to gather sufficient evidence to justify further action.
