Just popped on for a second,

Bagpuss!
That is great! what a lovely find,
by googling ,one of my new found cousins and I have found that my gt grandfather contributed to a collection of folk songs collected in early 1900s, so we are hoping to get a recording of his voice.....which would be amazing!

If you can get the communigate (no it's not supposed to be communicate) site for your area then it sometimes has a wealth of information on each town or village.

Each time you come across a new place in your ancestry just type it into your search engine ie communigaterotherham or communigatemiddlesbrough etc in the same way as you would type Genuki Rotherham or Genuki Middlesbrough.

You never know what you might find.

p.s. For anyone in the Grangetown and South Bank area of Cleveland communigateslaggyisland is a must.

UPDATE - Sorry it does just seem to be a North East of England site, for towns and villages in North Yorkshire and Durham areas.

Rose. I Just googled name and place, as you suggested - I didnt get any more info than I already have, BUT I have found pictures of my g grandmother/father/ all their children, picture of my grandparents wedding (which I have never seen or knew exised!) and even a couple of pictures of my dad as a toddler!!!!

THis is a great way thannks for putting this up - I may never have seen these otherwise!!! Have printed them for my dad, he will be made up!!!

I knew there was a greater purpose for doing the family tree!!!

I have found some extra interesting bits and bobs by Googling the places my ancestors came from....I know that sounds a bit obvious but try lots of different combinations...for instance i tried, chiswick, Isleworth, brentford with my ancestors surname....it is amazing what comes up sometimes.

Hi Gail :)

Have you checked out to see if there are any online Parish Clerks for any of the areas you are researching. Put Online Parish Clerks in Google
