Aileen I am not a Londoner, but I have signed.
I think the way the counrty is being destroyed and all our history is changing.... for new shops, plus building on anything they see which is still green, is heart breaking.
I hope my address is still acceptable to the powers that be!

I was born in Essex (shirrup, you lot!) and a lot of my ancestors came from the London/Middlesex area, including Camden Town.
So (being dramatic here, lol) - I'll sign the petition on behalf of those ancestors! :-)

I've just signed the petition.

I am not a Londoner, but one of my pet hates is seeing history and beautiful architecture trashed in favour of these modern ticky tacky boxes.

It's happening far too often.

Dear All

For anyone who hasn't yet heard, an application
for planning permission has been approved by Camden County Council in order to demolish Camden stables market and to build a new complex with high street chains like Topshop and Starbucks.


We've lost both the Kings Road and Kensington High
street as well as most of the old Spitalfields Market over the
last fifteen years... Please, don't let Camden go the same way. We can't let the stables be torn down - They are such an
integral part of Camden and London itself won't be the same without
them.




Please, please, please give just 1 minute of

your time and go to:

Petition to: cancel the proposed idea's to replace camden's unique market area with a shopping centre.


it goes straight to the government and officially
has to be responded to. This could be our last chance to make a
difference. The petition closes on SUNDAY 9th September


Surprisingly few Londoners even know about these

plans.
