I didn't add to it because I get upset and frustrated about Mugabe and other African leaders.

I said once before that the only solution to ending his tyrannical grip is death and subsequent uprising against the longstanding regime.

Sadly that isn't going to happen, he goes and another takes his place.

IMO if the African Nations cannot intervene and do something constructive no matter what we do it will not make one iota of difference.

That is a statement I hate to make but I truly cannot see a way forward.

I am a political being but I have learnt that politicians in the UK only hear what they want to hear, generally if the problem is too big and not directly affecting the UK economy they make the right noises and then let it drift.

Twiglet,

I didn't like putting my views on because I sound so negative.

If one party put intervention in their manefesto I think I would collapse with shock!

Whenever the news reports concentrate on a particular area of inhumanity in the world there are stirrings amongst the UK population, however, if Government attempted to allocate funds or troops in an attempt to swing the political balance the backlash would be swift and huge.

The usual comments would reappear 'why aren't they concentrating on the problems we have - NHS, education, housing stock deficiency' etc.,

Absolutely no comparison to the dire living conditions endured by people in various countries governed by dictators but voters will have their blinkers on again.

You could try a petition online, I am sure you would get thousands of signatures, you just have to find a politician with a) a concience b) conviction. I can't actually think of one other than Clare Short and we all know what happened to her.

Thanks Maz,

Just re-read my posts, I am sorry to sound so pessimistic it's just experience from attempting to fight on previous issues.
