Brian that is so sad.

I agree that these are the things Britain does best.

We live on the route they use for the London fly-pasts, so have seen some really good ones.

Sad memorries in some ways for one in particular, the 1990 Battle of Britain 50'th anniversary which the husband of a newly married daughter of long-standing friends was supposed to be taking part in as Navigator in a Tornado.

We went to their wedding in Germany in the March.

In July/August he was killed in a mid-air collision.

And the photos of the fly-past which I took got messed up by the developers and came out with a green tint.

Lucky you Sunbeam - I watched most of it live on Beeb News Channel - did not realise it was happening until it was mentioned on radio ... some of the fly past had to be changed as weather not good enough where they were stationed ... been grey and misty down south all day! Jx

Better make the most of it while it lasts; flypasts might be banned because, after all, it's soooooo British.

Couldn't resist the cynical comment Sunbeam, but I love that sort of thing, too.

Oh Merlin, I am laughing like a drain......imagining you in a star spangled robe with a pointy hat and a wand, whizzing about.....

Yes, you are right, passing wind does have the same expression....

Sunbeam, I think I would have been like that too, I love the fly pasts, only seen them on telly.....my Dad loved planes too.....glad you have the sun, at least the forecasters got it right somewhere in the country....supposed to be l9 degrees and sunny in Herts today.....is it.....hell....

No comment on the smiling Camilla.....but, where on earth are you to get a clear sky and sit outside.....here we have grey overcast skies and a slight chill.....not at all what we were forecast for today....

....back to your thread, your fly past must have been spectacular, I have never seen one in real life.....the noise of the jets must be terrific.....did they fly low at all?...
