Am on a 2 week course of penicilin, any tips on how to avoid the thrush caused by it? Short of eating loads of natural yoghurt ( not keen ) any tips???

Actimel yoghurt drinks...very fruity flavours, and they are only small, so you can knock em back quickly if you really don't like yoghurt.

You do need yoghurt, it contains bacteria very similar to the bacteria in our gut, which any antibiotic destroys.

Lol Jan, my lad William had very bad strep throat 2 weeks ago, Ive caught it now...

Re Strep throat.
Manuka honey (aka Tea Tree) imported from New Zealand is effective against strep. Whenever I feel a sore throat coming on, and I am very sensitive to Strep having had rheumatic fever as a child,I take a teaspoon of Manuka honey morning and night and have not had a sore throat progress in 5 years.

You can Google manuka and see what it's suggested uses, so-called 'tea tree' derived from the Manuka tree.

A pharmacist recommended acidophilus tablets to me when I filled a prescription for antibiotics.

Beats all that messing about with yoghurt and no, I didn't get thrush.
