Suppose to be going to in-laws for dinner around 5pm-in honour of sis in laws friend who's arriving at 2pm into Manchester from Oz
just been told he's stuck at Heathrow and immigratiion won't let him in-god knows why.

The impression we got is they think he's gonna try and stay here. He's only here for 3 weeks the poor bloke. You think it would be the other way round.

Hope they let him catch the next flight to Manchester...

Awwww wonder why they thought that? Can' t you just take a simple holiday anymore?

Why would anyone from Oz want to stay here as we approach winter?

That happened to a young girl from Oz too - she was going for a holiday, had a return ticket and job to come back too - Immigration wouldn't let her in - said she was going to work while she was there. Didn't matter how much she argued that she had a return ticket, enough money to see her okay while there and job waiting back home - she was on next flight back to Oz. Naturally isn't interested in trying again if that's their attitude.

Guess he flew Qantas - should have picked an airline that flew direct to Manchester.

Hope it all gets sorted and he gets to have his holiday with you all.

Oh I hope he gets thru too..... Isn't it daft that we let asylum seekers in by the hundreds and yet we don't let in genuine visitors!

And the deletion is me as posted same thing twice!

:O(

That reminds me of a friend of mine, well an ex lol, from Wakefield. He went to Canada to visit his brother, and took a load of english stuff with him especially Ready Brek and midget Gems, which he couldn't get in Canada. Unfortunately, he went to amsterdam first, then flew to Toronto from there. Not only was he subjected to a full body search, but they opened the box of ready brek and searched that too. He had to throw it away after they had had their hands in it.

well ladies considering the ordeal he been through think the offer of a phonecall to the australian ambassador for mexico did it.

He went to a wedding there a friend of the ambassador's before coming here and after a bit of interrogation he must have shown them the letter and invite he still had on him and suddenly they couldn't do enough for him...oooh makes you think that...
