Remembered that 'dressing up to go out' could mean putting on a nice, dress, jewellery and perfume etc
NOT just what clothes to wear to dig the garden lol

Looked at Clothes shops (see above lol).

Bought a Beatles CD because I realised I hadn't listened to some of my favourites for years.

Fed the ducks on the river and the squirrels in the park.

Waited at the bottom of every escalator and lift while my son rode up and down them! lol

Stood under the Eastgate clock, where my mum must have stood hundreds of times....and looked at Lloyds Bank building where she was born.

Watched the fireworks.

Had pancakes and syrup in the mornings at McD's,and looked at the great paintings they have on the wall there.

Got called 'luv' in all the shops.

Watched people! and noticed that the women looked 'strong' and the men looked worried....lol
also that proportionately more men seem to do food shopping there than they do here.

And..... missing all the people on here......I amused myself by arranging the magnetic letters on the fridge (at the hostel we stayed at) into the board names of people on here LOL! (one is still there I hope ...at least till tonight!)

Now found this thread - poor D - he is probably mortified that all your friends who wished him Happy Birthday recently now know about his unfortunate escapade. Jx

and Janice~~~~~~~~~

Well trust Dan! He was lucky I didn't fall asleep while he was locked in there...otherwise he would have been there much longer than the time between
two stations LOL (local ones so only about 10 mins!) I thought he was a long time...but assumed he'd just gone for a walk down the carriages to stretch his legs!

Thanks Wendy, Chester definitely worth a longer stay.....especially in the good weather when you can go up the river on one of the river boats, we didn't manage that this time but have done it several times before and is very relaxing way to spend a few hours.
