A good few years ago, I had a lovely little Fiesta (old but in good condition), was sharing a flat with a friend and had to park in the street. It was a quiet area and (usually) no trouble but one morning I went out to find some SCUM had poured battery acid all over the bonnet - it had also run down one side of the car - it cost 100's for a re-spray (I had already had an insurance claim and didn't want another!). I think that car was jinxed - it was broken into a few weeks later and I'd already damaged it in a minor accident!

I despise mindless vandalism and have every sympathy with your grandson.

Sickening isn't it Kim that we should reward them for being evil.. (poor lad I suppose he comes from a broken home and hasn't had a chance in life. He is laughing at the law!)

Ann, This makes me really mad , your Grandson is out there earning a living and taking responsibility for his life .
I know of someone in their 20,s who has been in prison 3 times in two years for breaking and entering , burglary , drugs etc .When he came out this time he was given a grant for £300 and a mentor who meets him and buys him breakfast .He has to report to his probation officer 3 times a week , but his train fare is paid for .His Mum took great delight in telling me that her sons mentor took him off to play golf on Saturday .Last time he came out he was given a years free membership to our local Gym !!!
He is also very fond of boasting that he was on the TV in the Monty Donn program ...

I am so sorry for him, poor soul.

I just hate the idiots who seem to think that someone who has something they want.. (anything)... got it easily!!

They make me sick. And as you said about his insurance.... he has done nothing wrong, but he would lose his no claims, if he had to ask them for help to fix it!!

My son has had his car keyed.... just for fun, by yobs up the road who don't work.... but make sure EVERYONE knows they are there!!

Apparently hiscar was in a car park. It was reported and the police went to his home, he, of course wasn't there but his brother gave the police his mobile number. he had to go out to meet them, what a good job he never drinks when he is driving! Luckily his friend had taken his ipod with him - he was going to leave it in the car, and Chris has the CDs all backed up on his computer, so while he has ,lost the originals he still has the music. That is a lesson to only carry copies in the car I suppose.

I can only agree with everything others have said, just pray that the scum get their cumuppance thrice fold.

Police are a waste of time in these instances, I was told I couldn't voice my thoughts on "Karma" when it happened to me by a very put out policewoman who made it clear she thought I was out of order.

As his Mum says it is sad that it will cost him £200 for something not his fault. plus fares as it can't be done until tuesday. still it is in the repair garage and luckily in the dry or the rain could have made things even worse. apparently there were 4 cars done at the same time.

I bet if he had been illegally parked there would have been a warden around to catch him. Nothing to protect the motorist against these low life though is there.

Im so sorry about your Grandson, and I have every sympathy. My eldest son had his mirrors broken off and he too had to pay for them even though the police were sure they knew the thugs who had done it but couldnt prove it!

When our young ones work hard and they are treated this way its so sad, best wishes to your Grandson,

My Grandson, worked hard at school, didn't like uni (he is 19 now), got himself a temporary job with an agency which led to him being taken on permanently because the company were pelased with him. passed his test, bought a car with Mum's help.

Friday evening in southampton some low life smashed the drivers window, and broke off the drivers mirror. Took CDs from the glove compartment but nothing else of value. And I bet they don't work for a living.

Now he has the inconvenience of getting it fixed, paying for it because it is not worth claiming on his (expensive) insurance and getting to work by bus or train, not an easy journey from where he lives. Thugs! They make me so mad!!!
