It is so hard when anniversaries come around, all our thoughts are awoken and the pain, that never dissappears, returns full blown - bless you and bless your Dad, remember the good times XX. |

to lose you Dad is dreadful - it was years before I could even talk about it without crying but I can handle it now - he was a great joker and raconteur and such a caring person - I've written a lovely article about my Dad on the Whitchurch and Llandaff North website called "My lovely Dad..." if anyone would care to take a look. He had such fun as a child plus the local history aspect of the story is of interest to people in this area. Lots of love, Ann in Cardiff XX |

I still have difficulty talking about him without getting upset, even after all this time. I was a daddys girl, and he was taken so tragically in a road accident. I am away to look at the site now Anne. |

I can empathise .....lost My Mum, Dad and Brother within two and a half years. The pain when we lose someone close is immense and all we can do is remember the good times as you say. |

must be so much worse to lose your Dad in an accident and obviously he was so much younger than my Dad - it was the fags that killed my Dad which was self inflicted really but when he was growing up to smoke was considered "cool" and then you're hooked |

I am so fortunate to have both my parents (77 and 81 years old) and just cant begin to think how I will cope when the day comes that I have to say goodbye. My thoughts are with you on this sad anniversary. But DO remember all the good times Col x |

Ann, I read you story, and found it very interesting. It's a wonder that poor woman didn't die of shock, but can see the funny side of it. |

thanks for that Vods - through that story I met up with a second cousin living in Rotherham - we share the same great grandparents and he helped me enormously with my tree and I was able to fill in some gaps in his - strange how these things come about. I had another article on that site about my life as a child during the war and that brought forth a second cousin on my mother's side - we share the same great grandparents and she;s ccoming to visit from Burnham on Sea!! |
