I finished a cheque book yesterday, went to the place I usually put new ones when they arrive automatically in the post - no cheque books. realised that I haven't had a new one for either account (we have two). It used to be that there was a page to send off for a new cheque book but once you passed that page they would send a new one anyway. Don't they do hat any more? I don't remember any notification of a change in doing things.

OK I have requested one on line but I actually don't have any cheques until it comes through. Not very convenient.

As Sharon said, I would check with the bank, they could have gone missing in the post.

Ann

I was sure I had a cheque book here couldnt find it when I went in for something else asked if I could have another one sent and they had already sent one that got lost in the post so ordered another they both arrived same day .

It should be automatic that they send it

Speak to your bank - my sister had hundreds of pounds out of her account last christmas - cheques all cashed to £250.00.

Turned out in the end that a cheque book that had been issued three years previously never made it to her and she had not noticed her cheque numbers where out of sequance.

It turned out theives had aquired a number of cheque books that had been posted out at about the same time and had made matching cheque cards and hit or stung lots of accounts in the same week all from the same branch of the same bank!!!!!! All cheque book numbers over three years old.

The police where called in and the bank refunded everything as so many accounts were hit at once it was not a one off but a planned operation.

Funny you say Lloyds has stopped issuing them - thats who my sister banked with at the time.

I do check my statement and my account on line - nothing untoward at the moment.
But I will check if any were sent out.
