Do you keep them ?

I have just spent a really funny couple of hours reading some from my teenage years (and some later ones but it was the teenage ones I enjoyed the most lol). One of the letters I thought was especially lovely at the time. It wasn't til I read it back earlier though that I realised the words had come from a song by Frank Sinatra and I fell for it !!! lolololol xx

Aw that is so sweet!!

I have many of the later letters, and a few of the really special early ones. I wish I had kept them all, but they needed a packing crate all their own every time we moved house, lol!

Oh, they were all from my husband, lol!

Love

do wish I'd kept mine - Lawrence was one of the last ones in for National Service call up - we had just got engaged and he was posted to Singapore - we had t look on the map to see where it was exactly. I wrote every day and posted letters three times a week and he did too. There were so many letters and I burnt them when we got married cos I was sure my sister would get hold of them and they were extremely private and pewrsonal -I'd love to be reading them again now he's gone. Happy dasys indeed

Only those that was wrote in the sand,,,,,,,,,,,,,))

No but have my late MIL &FIL that they wrote to each other during the war when he was POW in Burma for 4 years,,they often took 3/.5 months to get there and only one page was allowed ,,you'de be suprised how much you can squeeze on a 4x5inch bit of paper,,,,,,and they were censored,,,,,,,,,,plus all the cards that MIL sent to him there,

Aw Ann what a shame !

I had mine in a metal box, with a key that went everywhere with me - I had a sister that would have loved to have had a look at them too. They are still in the same box to this day - I lost the key on our move three years ago but found it unexpectedly in an old handbag earlier! xx

Yes I have mine all tucked away in memory boxes along with other paraphernalia!

Shame, cos I read in the paper recently that love-letters are almost a thing of the past now that youngsters text and use MSN and emails.

You can't put a text in a memory box can you?
