Tip for the Bread Machine Crew!

I have just made the first loaf in my machine since OH was diagnosed with diabetes.

I swopped the sugar in the recipe for sweetener granules (the powder in a big jar, I used Tesco's own brand) and it didn't spoil the loaf in any way. In fact, we used to say that the bread was a bit on the sweet side before but now it's not.

Off to have another slice.... :-)

Oh that's good Kitty, I dithered a bit over whether to post a thread or not, but I'm glad I did if it will help you! My OH is also type 2.

So now you have another recipe to go with your NEW breadmaker lol :-)

*polishes breadmaker*

He loves banana bread, so I can use the recipe now.

My problem is my poor cooking skills...........so far I've only managed to ruin 1 loaf out of the 4 I've made.

For me................a triumph!! LOL

xx

Thanks for that Mandy.

My mum has recently been diagnosed with Diabetes and I make 3 loaves a week for them.

I shall swap the sugar on the next one and see if they notice !!!

Thanks again xx

Julie, I've had two slices and his pathetic excuse for eating more is that he has to have 'regular snacks'. Yeah right ;-)))

I rarely get to eat mine.

Soon as it's out of the machine I have hungry hands grabbing at it.

It smells so nice you almost watch the timer with your mouth watering lol xx

Well actually, I did feel a bit guilty...my son loved my bread and we were lucky if we even got the ends. He's at Uni now, so we don't have to share it with him lol :-)
