I am in a Christmas mood today folks! And with less then a week to go and all my shopping finished, I feel pleased with myself.

I was wondering what is your best Christmas memories. Anything from old programmes we use to watch on tv, what we may have had as kids or even what we had done for other on the day. I will start.

My best Christmas was when I put my baby son in to my mother in laws arms on Christmas day. We had dressed him in a little Christmas outfit and I can still see the smile on her face. He is the first grandchild and 15 now. They love all the grandchildren the same, but that smile is still there when she sees him.

******** MERRY CHRISTMAS*********

sitting in front of a roaring log fire with my Mum and Dad, surrounded by orange peel, nut shells and sweet wrappers and reading books I had for Christmas - Daily Mail Annual, Rupert Annual and anything by Enid Blyton

We all had a sing song with the family when they all arrived and we would always end up with Delilah (not sure if I have spelt that right) playing or Mario Lanza, mums favorites. Dad always ended up doing his Columbo impression. One year we ended up going to the all the neighbours singing Christmas Carols in funny voices, this did include the adults as well. Everyone enjoyed it

The smell of tinsel (go on sniff it if you dont believe me) and the Christmas tree and decorations that appeared by magic 'overnight' in the run up to Christmas.
Staying awake as long as you could on Christmas eve and then waking to feel a rustle of pillow case at the bottom of the bed.
Rushing into Mum & Dad's room screaming ''hes been, he's been''
Dad having to try and fix the tree lights that blew like clockwork each Christmas morning.
The TV of course, Morecambe & Wise and Billy Smart's Circus.
Christmas tea, sherry trifle, cakes and sausage rolls then just before bedtime....cold turkey sandwiches then off to bed with an Annual to read as there was no school tomorrow!

The coloured paper (concertina shaped) decorations my dad put up on the ceiling in the shape of a star around the light.

Sitting at the table with mam and dad and sisters having dinner feeling important cause I was allowed to use a crystal glass.

Mams christmas tea, she got out her best china (only used at christmas) she put on a spread and a half. (she wouldn't let anyone wash the china only herself - incase we dropped it).

Coming downstairs with my little neice at 3 in the morning (her mums boyfriend asleep on the couch) we opened all our presents in the wendy house she got then went back to bed. The wendy house was a tip inside lol. Never got told off.

My parents laughing at the Black and White Minstrels in some variety show or other! Even odder as I now know they never heard a word that was sung!

I forgot avout the B&W Minstrels. The other one was the Musical Hall one, was it the Good Old Days? All I can was remember sing Daisy, Dasiy but dad add different words.

Daisy, Daisy, the coppers are after you.
They will come in a black Meriah (not sure if that is spelt right)
And will tie you up with wire.
So ring your bell and peddle like hell,
On a bicycle made for two.
