I don'k know how but I've just about managed to survive. I only bought 76 pints of milk, 328 loaves of bread and a lorryload of toilet tissue on Monday. Thank goodness the shops have re-opened otherwise we could have been plunged back into the Dark Ages.
Well done Mr Co-Op for seeing sense and only closing for a brief period of time and allowing us to stock our cavernous larders, pantries, fridges and freezers with enough fodder to keep a decent sized central African country going for six years.

Incidentally, does anyone have any recipes for curdled milk and mouldy bread?

PMSL Errol, I was thinking along those lines when I went to Sainsburys on Sunday....

I overheard someone saying, Why are people doing all this shopping, the shops are only closed for one day!

We might just make the last of our milk last until the morning...thank goodness for the wine and beer we have in stock in case the milk runs out lol

Beechams! Beechams! I knew there was something I had forgotten (although I probably wouldn't have been able to fit it in the car on Monday).
Praise be to the wise thinking of the Lord of Consumerism and His omnipotent presence on a High Street near you from Boxing Day for 364 days only.

I used to work in the cash office of our local Boots and the tales I would hear of panic buying before Xmas were amazing. People would come into the shop to buy not one bottle of 100 Paracetamol but two (in the days before they were restricted) just to get them through to the 27th.
