Have you tried a pirce of tracing paper over the back of the photo and then lightly rubbed a pencil over the tracing paper?

Just a thought, but would photocopying work if you adjusted the contrast?

I work in a school and we can alter images for the children this way sometimes.................they do a fine pencil sketch and we photocopy and enlarge the image.

Might be worth a try.

xx

a) words are too faint to trace and
b)computer alterations have not made any words readable. Joe

am interested if you get a solution - pencil writing on back of postcard - driving me mad for years - it is the signatures - tried ultra violet and that did not work.
