I got one and don't bank with Nat West, so I didn't open it, but sent it straight to my spam folder.

I took note of the e-mail address and will give it to our local branch tomorrow.

Its a phising scam ....they all are. NEVER respond to an e-mail from a bank asking for you to verify your details with them. Report it as phising to your e-mail provider if there is the option or print it off and give it the local branch of the bank concerned...As for the mail its the delete button and then the delete button from the junk bin. Banks do not ask for anyone to provide information by e-mail so don't get going there

I have just opened an account with Natwest, But have been receiving these e-mails for ages. When I opened the account I asked the branch if they wanted my addy and was told No cos it opens the flood gates. The mail I get goes straight to my spam account anyway so I just delete.

I get at least 6 / week from either NatWest, RBS, Halifax, Abbey... well nearly every big bank . All similar format and a right pain in the butt.

I've had one from NatWest and another bank - can't remember which one - but if I've no account with them I just delete them. I don't believe my bank would email anyway. It's a phishing scam.

Grannie, unless you have given express permission, no bank will contact you via email, Its a scam.

I get them from all of them, Nat West, Barclays, Lloyds TSB, Paypal, Nationwide. Its the same scam always. I only have an account with two of the above, and one is Paypal.

If you ever get an email, just delete it. Don't reply because that will tell the sender your email address is active and they will flood you with all sorts of spam.

The latest one I've been getting once a month is supposedly from Tiscali who I'm with it usually comes about the time my payment is due and it tells me there's been a problem with my payment. Phoned Tiscali but of course not from them But it really does look genuine more so than the banks

As mentioned these are scams. If you reply to them it is likely your bank account will be emptied in minutes.

I use msn hotmaill which has an option to mark emails such as this as phishing scams. I always do and it generally stops me receiving any more from the same source.

Other mail servers may have a similar facility so it is worth checking.
