Oh my lord Sylvia. I thought that sort off thing only happened in the U.S.A..
In this country, you would only get a motocade like that,if you are a murderer, and if they thought you were a danger to people,ie a terrorist.
I don't even think the queen herself warrants that kind off threatment any more. I bet you were shocked when that happened, especially as you were so close to it.
I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice,if we were able to share, how we met our OH, and did our romantic dreams come true.
Please let me know what you think.
I will be back later girls. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi everyone

I went into my account to check my membership status, and to change it from Continuous to Single as I prefer it to be ............ and lost (in Canada) as a result

This is now the best I can be as you are not apparently allowed ( ) or spaces between words!

I usually go every 3 weeks for the physio, but I was sick last week, so had to cancel the appointment, that's why I went 4 weeks.

OK, you asked, here goes ................... I have a degenerating spine, bottom 3 or 4 vertebrae are not doing a good enough job for the muscle attachments. That affects the sacro-iliac joint that's roughly about the middle of your "bum", and then the hip ...... followed by the leg, knee and ankle if it really gets out of whack. Add to that the bursa I got in the same hip last May!

I've been having physio for it since about 1997 ....... and think it is the only reason why I am still walking. Thank heavens we went north that Christmas to stay with my sis-in-law, the combination of her very hard bed and the extremely cold weather we had then caused me to come back to Vancouver in agony, go to see the doctor, get x-rayed and thus find the problem! Otherwise, it might not have been found until much later.

Thought you might be entertained by this ..................

Just been for our regular afternoon coffee, which was rudely interrupted by police sirens

looked out the window

One police motorcycle, lights flashing, siren blaring

another police motorcycle ditto

another and another and another ....................

Finally go out onto the street to look

Police motorcycle at closest intersection blocking all traffic trying to go North on this main street

Other motorcycles leapfrogging north

No traffic now moving north, but traffic allowed to move south. No pedestrians allowed to cross the street, even with a pedestrian light.

Finally .................. huge motorcade, ca 20 black cars and limousines, led and surrounded by more motorcycles with lights flashing and sirens blaring, and rear brought up by police car, ditto

It was a practice for getting the IOC family members from the airport to downtown Vancouver.

THIS is what we have to look forward to!!!!

The Queen caused much less disturbance the last time they drove her on that route!

Just a quick hello before I go off to bed, been watching the British TV awards, quite an entertaining programme tonight for a change, I usually get bored by it.

Yes Sallie I finished a page of the scrap book today of Granddaughter trying on her new clothes she had for Christmas.

Sylvia, that is a long tome between physio appointments.

Mo in Kent Report 20 Jan 2010 21:56

Hello all
Sylvia I hope you dont mind my asking, but what are you having physio for.
As you said four weeks between appointments,is an awful long time. All the good that has been done, can be undone in such a short time.
Oh Sallie I do hope that you can get your net problems sorted soon. It's so annoying when you cannot get connected properly.
Sorry to be so late,I don't know where the day has gone.
I am off to my bed now.
Night Night all. Take care. Love Mo xxx

Hi All,

Just a quick look in, to let you know that we are having trouble with both the internet and my lappy, so not sure when it will all get sorted. At the moment we are in Jennie's, so am using her internet and puter.

Mo, sorry your team lost at darts, you never know you might do better next week. Hope all is going well for your granddaughter and nephew.

Sylvia, good news about not having to pay to get your car done, and that it 's not going to take too long to repair it. Hope you haven't had anymore awful storms.

Ann, sorry about your meeting so long. Have you done anymore scrap pages?

Speak to you all soon.

Love, Sallie.xx

Oh I hate meetings like that!! Esepcially when I'm taking the minutes.

Well done on the darts Mo

Went to the phsyio this morning, really needed it as cancelling last week meant that it was 4 weeks since the last time I had seen him, and I really felt as though I had slipped back a little.

I'll see him in 2 weeks time and then in 3 weeks after that ...... and then the receptionist suggested that I make the next appointment after that ........ that led to consideration of when we were going to see the daughter. I now have appointments through to the end of APRIL!

Hope Jean feels better soon.

Mo well done on winning the pairs. Poor Jean, my love to her and hope she feels better soon.
The meeting Mo went.... on and on..... and on. started at 10.30 and went on until 1.45 including working through eating lunch. Still have the minutes to write up.

Sylvia, great that you have nothing to pay for the car.

Mo in Kent Report 19 Jan 2010 18:47

My word Sylvia, how lucky the warranty hadn't run out,and to have a courtesy
car thrown in,is a bonus. At least this way you will still have transport, whilst yours is being repaired.
Your weather seems as crazy as ours at the moment. We had very a foggy
day today, and they have forecast more snow for tommorrow.
I hope the meeting went well Ann.
Sallie my love,if that therapist has not contacted you by Friday, could you phone your doctors, and tell the surgery that she promised to get back to you,and hasn't,and could they chase it up for you.
It's not fair that they have gone so far with you,and then left you in limbo.
Well we lost again at darts,4-2 but won the pairs 2-1. But with all your good wishes I managed to finish the two games we won. who's a clever girl then. Lol.
I have heard from Jean, and bless her she is still not very well. Get well soon our Jean,we miss you.
And if you are looking in,please give J my best wishes for the 22nd,when he attends the hospital for his check up.
Big hugs for Marie,Huia, Liz, and all our friends. Love Mo xxx

Hi everyone

a horrendous storm last night ...... gale force winds and heavy rain. Then sunshine by late morning!

well ............. OH took the car in this morning, got a Nissan Sentra as a loan. Was told they would assess our car and let him know the cost.

When the phone call came ..................... it's covered by warranty, and so is the rental of the car rental!

It should be ready on Wednesday.

Phew!!!!!!

Hi Mo,

Hope your team will win tonight. Good luck and enjoy yourself. No, I still haven't heard anything from the therapist, she promised to get in touch with me last week, so I'm hoping she will be in touch this week. Not sure what to do if she doesn't, I feel as though I shouldn't have to chase her up as she promised to get back to me.

I'll speak to you all tomorrow, if we don't have any problems with the internet.

Good evening everyone.
Just a quickie,as I have got to get my bath, before I go to darts.
Don't worry Marie,I have not sent the strippers to Jean,I could not take the risk off anything happening to her. I would never have forgiven myself.
How are the family Marie? I hope the little ones are in better health now.
Hi Sallie, have you heard from that bloomin therapist yet. I hope they have not forgotten you.
I hope that A and the family are o.k.
I have sent a pm to Jean to see how she is. When I get any news I will let you know.
But you never know Jean may pop in herself.
Right I must go now. Big hugs to all our friends. Love to all Moxxx

Hello to all my friends, I hope all is well with everyone today. As you can see our internet is working for now, but don't know how long it will last.

Marie, lovely to hear from you and to know that all is well with you and
your family. It isn't as here today as it's been, which is great--I dread to think how much we'll all have to pay for our heating bills.

Mo, hope everything is going along alright for both your granddaughter and nephew. I hope they will both get good news about about their biopsies.

Jean, hope you are feeling a bit better today, just look after yourself and take care.

Thinking about Huia, Ann, Liz, Sylvia and Marilyn and all our absent friends.

Our dinner is almost ready, so I'd better go .

Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie.xxx

Hello All,
It has taken me ages to read the posts, now if i can remember what was written, first ,Mo better not make them strippers Mo, Jean would probobly have a heart attack I know I would.I am pleased to read your Nephew has his speech, now the battle begins to regain his memory and to make sure the tumor is eradicated if the biopsy isnt clear , but GOD willing it will be. Your grandaughter should soon recover that is great news.No matter how old we get we still have worries, life is not easy but it's amazing how we can still Laugh and find Joy in simple things, I guess that is God's way of easing the burden for us.

Sorry to hear Jean is unwell, I am not suprised the bad weather you have been having. Get better soon June.
We have had a cool change and it is pleasent, except for the high winds.

Sallie I am sorry your Daughter has had to change her medication but hopefully it will be ok.
Lovely to hear from you Ann.---- Sylvia, I live in Bathurst which is not that far from Mudgee our football team goes to Mudgee to play against the Mudgee Swans during Winter. Hi Marilyn how are you in the Sun in Cyrprus???
Purple Liz, Has your partner and your self ever had any counselling,??? He really does need it ,what is his father like? may be he could have a talk to him, I dont know what it is about men, why is it they are so STUPID when it comes to their Health. I am sorry Liz that things seem to be so depressing for you maybe when the weather clears things may look better I am thinking of you and will say a prayer for you and hope your partener will wake up to himself other wise he will eventually have to have to have injections I have a sister who isnt carefull enough in her eating habits she is type 2 diabetic.
I must be off as I also need to eat it's well past my lunch.
Love and HUGS to you all Marie, Oops almost forgot Love to Huia xxx

Hello again girls.
Yes Sallie,we had the g.children today. My grandaughter, had one off her naughty days I am afraid. I love them both dearly, but she can be a little madam at times.
My nephews results should be back this week, they said 3-5 days, but make that 7 and it would be more realistic,I would think having to take the weekend into account.
Right Ann,I think the Chippendales will be out off the equasion,as if I told Jean I am sending her some Chippendales, she may think I mean furniture. LOL so a few firemen might do the job, what say you.
Mind you,if they turned up on my doorstep,I would not know what to do with them. I would have to get the book out,and read up on what I have to do. The memory is all thats left now. LOL
I would probably make them a cuppa, and offer them a piece off cake,or a biscuit. LOL
Well I will say Night Night all. Speak to you tommorrow. Love Mo xxx

Hello all. Yeh go on Mo, send her some hunky men, kill or cure that is what I say.

Huia, I am pleased that you were able tow alk with Phil in the garden, makes it all well worth your visit doesn't it? Sorry about your crunch!!!

Sallie

Sallie Report 17 Jan 2010 21:00

Hi All,

We seem to be having trouble with the internet again, so if I'm missing for a little while, you'll all know why.

Sorry you all seem to be having problems with your cars, hope they will all soon be sorted.

Sylvia, a week or two before Christmas, Richard ( my son ) had the same problem with his car, as you have now. Of course he had a good moan about the cost of keeping a car, because the week before , the car had to be taxed and also have an M.O.T. which it passed. I'm sure that he won't give the car up though, unless he really had to.

Liz, thanks for your PM, I'll try to reply to you before the internet starts playing up again. It's a shame your OH won't do the calendar crossword with you, as I'm sure it would help him by having an interest in doing something. I love doing crosswords as does Jennie, and she and Alun both like doing Sudoku

Huia, pleased to hear that Phil was better when you went to visit him last time. It's so much easier for you to see him as he was too! Sorry to hear about the minor accident to your car, though. Hope you'll be able to get it fixed soon.

Mo, do you know when your nephew gets the results of the biopsy? I really hope his memory slowly comes back, you know the saying ''slowly but surely''. Not sure, but did you say that you were having your grandchildren
for the day, today? I hope you had good day with them if you did. I miss seeing Jean on the boards, I hope she'll soon feel a lot better.

Well I'm going for a shower now, and then settle down with a nce cup of tea.

Love and best wishes to everyone. Sallie.xxx

Mo in Kent Report 17 Jan 2010 13:40

Good afternoon everyone.
Liz,my OH,does the crosswords every day,and reads the newspapers from front to back. He has done this since his brain bleed,as his memory was not as it really should have been following surgery.
He is also pretty good with his meds, for his diabetes. But there are times when, like your OH,he forgets to eat. Especially if he is doing something he is interested in,and the time passes him by,without him realising it.
I should not complain really, but like your OH,he does not get enough excercise. It's to easy to jump in the car, rather than walking,or cycling.
Sylvia,I hope you get the car sorted out soon. It's better to be safe than sorry, and speeeding tickets, can soon mount up.
Just to let you all know, our Jean,is still not feeling to good. I think she needs a tonic,so I am going to arrange for a team off hunky men to go and sort her out. Or perhaps that is not such a good idea, what do you all think.
My nephew,is still having problems with his memory. He asked his dad for some fruit, but could not remember the name off the fruit. It turned out he wanted some cherries, but the name off them just would not come to him.
He starts his radiotherapy very soon. And it depends on the outcome off his biopsy,as to wether he has to have chemo or not.
I hope you are o.k today, and enjoying your sunday rest.
See you later. Love Mo xxx
