Mo in Kent Report 24 Oct 2009 15:47

Hi girls.
It's been very busy here today. We have got my sons two children with us
for the day.
My goodness,I have never watched so much childrens T.V,and I can't believe how much it has changed over the years.
It has been such a miserable day as well,it's been raining nearly all of the time,so it's not as if the children can play in the garden.
We are out for our meal tonight,so I will not be on till tommorrow.
I hope you are all well.
I am glad you had a better night Jean, the lack of sleep must have caught up with you.
Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hello everyone, just talking about the lack of sleep must have done something, I slept until 6/45 this morning, but I am going to get some Lavender today, I thought we had some, but D threw it away gave her a very bad headache, I will try a little on a tissue, thanks for your advice .....
what plans do you have for the weekend? if the weather isnt too bad I think we will have a stroll out...

love Jean xx

AnninGlos Report 23 Oct 2009 21:41

I have used the lavender spray and it does work, so does a drop of lavender oil on a tissue under your pillow. Not too much as it is strong.

JustJean Report 23 Oct 2009 21:39

Yes Ann, I have Horlicks, every night, I can fall asleep right away, and some noise wakes me ,and I cant get back to sleep...
Mo, I will give it a try,so I have it in writing if it goes wrong, its your fault........

Mo in Kent Report 23 Oct 2009 21:30

Jean have you tried the aroma therapy route. I know you can get Lavender
linen spray, that is supposed to be very relaxing. Just a spray on your pillow, will help to relax you,or so they say. I have not tried it I have to admit.
But if it works for you,we will all give it a go.
It sounds like I am making you our test dummy doesn't it.
Now when you go away, forget about what is going on at home,D can manage, and I am sure she will enjoy it.
I hope the excercise will help your OH Ann. It is so painful,I know what he is going through bless him.
Night Night god bless. Love Mo xxx

Mo, no he has not been to the doctor yet, I got some advice from my chiropodist and if that doesn't work in a week he will then go to the doctor.

Jean, can/do you drink milk, or horlicks, or hot chocolate? A hot milky drink is good for sending you off to sleep.

Hi, Mo, I am like the white rabbit, rush, rush, rush,I was so tired today , cant sleep so awake very early, downstairs at 5, but felt lousy so went back to bed later, I wonder if there is anything I can get to help me drop off, not tabs though,I think I have got out of the habit of sleeping deeply,so wake at the least noise, D and J did some shopping for me so that was a big help,

re Christmas cards, I am going to send a few, but hand deliver others, although I dont do as many as Ann..

Have a good weekend ladies, and be good.....

love Jean xx

Hi Ann,has your OH been to the doctor about his foot. He will probably send him to a podiatrist,to get proper fitted insoles for his shoes, that will be specifically made for the purpose.
My problem with my foot, was that the bone that runs along the bottom of the foot, was no longer flexible, and that was what was causing the pain.
They made a mould of my foot, and then made the insoles to fit that.
But they did warn me that sooner or later it would affect the other foot.and sure as eggs is eggs,it did. So I was grateful that they made a pair of them.
Marie, good to hear from you. You are always such a busy person, slow down a bit,and enjoy yourself.
Hows your quartet going.? Do you all meet up weekly, for practise.?
Is it getting any warmer over there.?
Oooooh I am nosey arn't I.
I am like you Sallie,I hate sitting writing out christmas cards. I always used to write them out early,to get them done out of the way.
But now the cost of postage, has risen so much, that I try to give as many
as I can,out by hand.
Coooeee Jean, where are you. I am missing you,and you haven't even gone away yet.
Be back later girls. Love Mo xxx

AnninGlos Report 23 Oct 2009 16:18

Marie, it is not a plantar wart but faciitis which is like a tendon strain under the foot.
Sallie, we compromise I let him do a little bit _ today we went shopping so he walked round T**** but leant on the trolley. Then when we got back he sat for an hour while he had lunch, then he went in the garden and emptied a couple of hanging baskets that were past it and for the past hour has been on his PC. He will never rest completely but I have to leave it to him, it is his foot!!!!

Yes, I am not so keen on writing the cards but will do a few at a time while watching TV. Most of the addresses are on labels on the PC, but not all of them.

Hello Girls, just having a quick look in, to see how you all are.

Marie, nice to hear from you. It's taking me ages to do the scrapbook pages I'm doing, I have to finish it soon because it's for a 80th birthday present. Pleased that Sebastian seems to be doing alright in his exams.

Ann, it looks as though you had an enjoyable meal while you were in town yesterday--reasonable price too. Now you have to write the all Christmas cards. I always loved writing them, but the last few years it seems more of a chore. It must be my age! How are you going to get OH to rest completely? That won't be an easy job for you.

Mo, I know what you mean when you say that some of the family are a bit short of cash at the moment. Christmas is an expensive time of year, especially when you have children.

Jean, you made me smile when you told us about your tote bag. Now you have taken some stuff out, do you think you are going to have enough crafting stuff to get your cards done?

I'm off out now, so I'll speak to you all later.

Take care!

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello Mo, Happy birthday to you sorry I missed it I have not had the time to post lately.
Sebastian seems to be doing well .
Hello Sue long time no hear we missed you.
Ann planter warts are dreadful I had one when I was a teenager I ended getting an infection in it,took awhile to heal.
Jean Lighten that tote Bag.
Deborah the cost of upkeep for cars is way too high but we have to have our cars as a bus service is not the best thing, especially when you have 6 children to get to sport.
Sallie I wish I could get the Scrap booking Bug again I have 2 unfinished books to do and another 4 to start, just cant find the energy to start. Mo it sounds like the family spoilt you I hope you have a lovely dinner with your friends.
Huia you may have left already but I sent you an e-mail.
I must go just so much to do LOVE & (((((((HUGS ))))))))))) to you all Marie of OZ.

Yes thanks I am fine, we were in town today as I had a chiropodist appointment and then we had lunch out. We tried a different pub for lunch, a really old one with all beams, quite quaint called the Dick Wittington, right near the cathedral. Lunch was very good, senior citizens special 2 courses for £4.95.
It was a nasty wet afternoon here, we got wet in town and walking from the bus, made worse by wounded soldier having to limp slowly. I asked the advice of the chiropodist, he insinuated that doctors know very little about plantar faciitis he told me to tell him it wont get better until he stops walking on it, he must rest it completely and he showed me an exercise for him to do twice a day. We shall see. he also said it is a slow job!

I have just about finished making my Christmas cards, made about 145 now, that should be enough. I do have OH's to make which is going to be really difficult if he can't go to golf!!

Glad you enjoyed your birthday Mo sounds like you did very well for presents.

Jean, I told you it was going to be you or that tote in the car!!!!

Hi stranger,Sue it's good to hear from you again. It sounds like you have been busy, with your tree. It's nice to hear that the kiddies are o.k.
Sallie,at the moment there are only five of us going saturday night. Finances are a bit tight, for some of the family,at the moment with christmas coming up. When you take into account that one of my daughters has three children, plus the two adults,it can work out quite expensive.
Steady on Jean, don't pack to much in that tote bag, poor J will end up with a hernia, and he does not need that.
Marilyn is on her way to her family,I am not sure if she has arrived yet.
I believe they live Norfolk way.
We have not heard from Ann,I hope she and her OH are o.k.
Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Hello Girls,

Mo, it certainly looks as though you are having a great birthday. Lots of lovely presents too. I love smellies from the Body Shop, although they are a bit expensive. Are all the family going out for a meal with you and Roly on Saturday? Enjoy the rest of your birthday.

Debbie, I'm sorry that you are having to pay out so much on the car, especially as you say, all these problems were pointed out to the garage that you bought the car from. Hope Matthew's rugby match went well-- and that you all enjoyed the casserole. How is your Dad and Sister getting on? Hope they are both going along alright.

Jean, hope you are managing to get organised, ready for next week. Just think, two weeks of making cards and doing what you want to do. Oh lovely!

Huia, I expect you are now on your way to Rororua, have a lovely long weekend, I'm sure it will do you the world of good. Take care of yourself!

Alun is gone to the model railway club tonight, so I'm going to make myself a cuppa and get on with some scrap pages.

Good wishes to you all.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello again.
Well our Jean,I will tell you what I have received for my birthday.
Two beautiful bouquets of flowers.
Youth Dew perfume and a BIG handbag from Roly.
So many smellies from the body shop, and from Sanctuary at boots.
Chocolates,slippers,socks. Dove products.
See everyone thinks I smell, hence all the scented products.
And I have had ten birthday cards.
Plus,we are out for a meal on Saturday night.
Poor Debbie, all that rain, and muddy clothes to wash.lol Been there ,done that and bought the t/shirt.
I really dont envy you Debbie. Do you have a tumble dryer,to get the washing dry.
I know when my five were little, and we invested in one,it was a blessing in disguise.
Has our Sallie been on today. I don't remember seeing her. Hi Saalliiee
where are you.
We are all fine at this end of the country, and I hope you all are as well.
Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi, Mo what we really want to know , what presssies did you get?did you go out for a meal? how many cards did you get ? are you o.k.?

Deborah

Deborah Report 22 Oct 2009 13:38

Hi Girls, how are you all today? I have read all the past few pages with interest. Jean, I hope the Kitchen is starting to look real now that you have actually chosen everything in the colours you want. I always leave choosing things like that to the other half. He usually has a better idea than me about colours for different sized rooms and light/dark areas. I'm a bit inpractical when it comes to such matters.

Huia, I am sure you have left by now, so I hope you had a good weekend, and managed to put other matters to one side for a short while. You have the same situation with Phil and his teeth as we do with my F-in-L and his hearing aid. It is frustrating for us to try and communicate with him, but if we got him a new one it may throw him completely off track. The illness is so awful isn't it and you never quite know how the person is going to react to such "change" in their lives.

Oh, cars and their problems. I have had my Bus for just over 3 years. During the first 3 years it was serviced by the garage who sold it to me and all problems were covered by the warranty. But now there is no longer a warranty on it, things have really started to go wrong. I had to have the brakes all renewed yesterday, pads & discs at the front and just pads at the back. No change out of £386.00. Now I have all different lights flashing that need to be sorted. These have been investigated before and the selling Garage told me there was nothing wrong. But my new garage have now been very honest with me, given me a breakdown of the parts that need looking into and an estimate for the costs. I will get a bit done each month so that it doesn't seem so bad on the purse. All in all it is going to cost me about £800.00 more to get the things fixed. They are things that have to be done, and I can't leave them too long. Oh the joys of having a modern car which is so computerised you can't do simple things with it. We need a big car as there are 6 of us when we are all there, and I so often have extra children, it is really handy to have it.

We've finally had rain over here, quite a lot yesterday and overnight, drizzle thismorning (whilst I was on my walk), and it is clearing now. The reservoirs are so empty, it is going to take a lot more before we have sufficient to keep us all going without having to resort to other methods of obtaining water. I watched a football tournament in a thunderstorm yesterday and am going to watch Matthews year play rugby against a school from England thisafternoon. Mo, real rugby playing weather!!! Oh the washing machine will be on overtime tonight.

Anyway, gotta go and get a casserole in the oven to be cooking whilst I am out, then the children won't have to moan for too long thisevening about how "starving" they are after school. Happy days.
DEBBIE
